haha i just put some ss emblems on it...i blew the 3100 motor in it last summer and got a 3400 out of a 01 monte carlo ls.

awesome...how did that swap go? you do it yourself? from what i hear thats a fairly straight forward swap with very little modifications needed

yeah did it myself it was pretty easy...if i woulda had a 3.4 dohc from the z34 i woulda had to modify the exhuast and everything cuz they have duals but on the new Ls's its just single..the hardest part was the ecu.

why you coulda used your stock ecu from the 3100...sent it to DHP and had it programmed PERFECT for your app...the LQ1 (3.4dohc) is a piece of shit...i would way rather have the L36(3800 SII) from a 98+ z34 or about a zillion other gm cars or the 3400

the 3400 plugs right in to the stock harness from the 3100

yeah the 3800 is pretty good but not much faster than the 3400...10Hp is all ...well i got a good deal on the Engine Transaxle and Ecu so i just took it all.

no actually its a 25hp difference...180 to 205...the gm 90degreeV6 (the 3800) was like one of the top 5 engines of the century...well you didnt have to use the ecu...

edit: not to mention the torque and aftermarket for the 3800 SII

they run forever too...thats is if you replace the intake manifold and/or manifold gasket every oil change :lol:

seems to be the same with the 3100, 3400, 3800 SI and II...the 3.4dohc is really expensive to maintain...people opt to get new motors rather than getting a new alternator...now thats horrible

205?? in the 98+ z34s...they had 180 is what i thought....shit i think the GTP's only have like 215 the Supercharger is small i know but ogtta have more thann 10 hp...maybe im wrong.

umm the L67(3800 SII S/C) has 240hp and 280ft/lbs...the L36 has 205 yup...the supercharger is an eaton m90 roots type...

240 thats pretty bad they arent fast for 240 stock HP..but just change the pulleys and timing and they get quick real fast tho.

dont change the timing...you chip it...they run mid to high 14s all the way to low 15s in stock form...just remember they weigh A LOT...yeah the bonnes are the same but weigh like 500lbs more...same with the park avenue, oldsmobile 88 LSS, and riviera

i wouldnt say the handling sucks ass...theres quite a bit of suspension for the 2nd gen GPs and montes...they will handle nicely with the right equip...watch your statement not all GM cars suck at handling...theres a few i could think of that would own
