Want/WTB free or cheap older notebook

Im looking for a cheap older notebook that is fairly recent. Just seeing whats available. If someone has one lying around that they dont care about and is willing to give away, let me know. I just want parts.

wow, thats, really, old......hmmmm. Id have to pass, sorry. To some it up, looking for a lot newer, say within 3-4 years.

not really since I can go and buy a brand new one with a P4 in the 500 range. I may be a car guy, but I also build computers on the side and know what they are worth. P3's aren't worth much at all. Id rather buy a celeron.
I prefer free since Im only interested in parts. But if the deal is right, I might shell out the cash.

I have a compaq presario 1600 XL laptop with all new internals compliments of Best Buys warranty program. Boots up and has good ol' windows 98. Pentium III processor and I believe 20 GB hard drive.... I will sell it, but not give it away... I am not a computer geek, but know it is worth something....

like i posted in psiedtsi's thread. ive seen old 486 laptops go for 100 bucks on ebay pretty recently. if you can get a decent p4 laptop (more than 128mb ram, more than a 10gig hdd, more then 8mb v mem, dvd/cd burner) for 500 bucks then id say just do that.
btw, the past 3-4 years is P4.

Id be interested depending on how much you want for it. remember, I'm just interested in parts, dont care if it works or how well it works.

You tell me what you want to give me for it, and I will tell you if I want to sell it. Just to save any unneeded BS if you plan to offer anywhere around or under $100 I am not interested. Maybe being this thing operates fine, I am not your target market, but I NEVER use the thing and it just rots in my closet. Shoot me a price and we can see where that leads.
