I placed 3rd out of 7 in the gs class, not too shabby for my 1st time. I'm not sure what my best time was though. But its all good though cuz I found my new love. Auto-x is a damn good time. I'll get some pics posted up when I get them developed.

Yeah probably. I saw a few cars that were at the auto-x there. The fam was in town so I went out to eat with them.

I haven't tried autocrossing, but there's got to be something to it if people give up drag racing to learn to take corners. Sure, it takes skills and money to make a car go fast in a straight line, but then you don't get to discuss fun things like camber, caster, scrub radii, anti-roll bar settings, and the like.

You know you have a good all- around car when you can kick ass on the drag strip and smoke everyone n autocross..

kinda hard to autocross a 400-500 hp car set up for drags... doesnt spool so well in low gears...

well no time here as i just watched, but man that looked like alot of fun out there.

definitely a different deal that straightline accelerating.

i am at a disadvantage either way being a fat man and all. so for now i will keep on watching both kinds.

did i hear someone say Drifting? when where and what time does it start.
that is another thing i have not seen in person yet.

CONGRATS to all those who beat the heck out of their cars today and still drove them away. i cannot believe how much punishment they took.

I was running GS but I had to leave before they were able to tell people their times/standings. All I know is on my first set of runs I ran a 44.936 and a 44.9?? The two times were very close.

I thought the course was fun but the surface was terrible. Talked to one of the BMW drivers from Canada, he recommended the GF event.

I knew there were a few fargostreet people there but I didn't recognize many. Anyway, I'm curious if anyone has pics or vids of my car out there, the red Mazda6 Wagon.

I ran a 45.01 or something like that. which is not too shabby for a 25 year old car riding on 10 year old suspension and 5 year old rear tires, lol! It was fun, it always is. ( this was my 4th event) only a few gripes....

1. the parking lot sucked. we may as well have been rally racing with all the gravel going around.

3. can someone explain to me how the PAX times work? I mean, my PAX corrected time was something like 44.00 second, while the guy in the brand new mustang GT ran a 40.0 lap and his CORRECTED PAX time was something ridiculious like 35 seconds?>!? how does he get 4 more seconds knocked off of his time (compared to mine) when he has 2x the HP, 30 years of suspension and engineering updates and a brand new car? I thought it was supposed to factor OUT the car??

grrrr, someone goofed on the PAX corrected time. My PAX corrected should have been somewhere in the 35 to low 36 second range. PAX correction factor for a D-stock car (280ZX is D stock) is .796. no real big deal, just kinda irks me, lol!

Do you have the results? Because I couldn't stay for the results in the end and they don't have the sccabadlands.org site updated yet.

i love coming to these events and getting practice taking pics and all and gladly share, but if the server gets abused then i just remove them. does not bother me at all. be gentle and i will continue to share.

this event ROCKED. i thought straightline racing was bad and fun and stuff. this was on par and mayb a little better. getting the cars coming into a turn and dig in with brakes and turning....then mashing the gas to get out of it. lots and lots of body roll.
