AOL Boycotte!!!!

THis thread has been started for 2 reasons. One I want to rally anyone with aol to cancel it and go to a better, cheaper service. I have no preference other than no AOL.
REASONS:

I have worked at usbank for 4.5 years and have heard nothing but bad about them from customers.

What I have heard is that you can never cancel your account without a problem.

Their Customer Service sux and they treat people like crap.

I was treated like crap.
Now, the situation is that I bought a computer from best buy, when you do that they automatically give 3 months aol for free. You can't get around it from what I understand. June 16th, 3 months to the day I cancelled my aol service, got a confirmation number and everything. Get a letter several days later stating "This letter confirms that on June 16th, 2005 you agreed to continue your aol service. Your service will continue and you will be charged 23.90 per month as agreed." I called them with my cancellation # and they said it was cancelled. I was then told I was charged $23.90 for my next month and my service ends July 15th. I asked if it was cancelled and they told me yes again. So I asked why I have service until July 15th. Because we billed you for it. I then had to call back the same number I initially dialed to speak to billing. They told me I was not charged, then they told me I was, then I wasn't then I was. Then they told me that they will not credit me even tho I have a confirmation letter showing same day cancellation, I then talked to a supervisor and they said the same thing. Everyone treated me like shit. If I talked to people like that I would have been fired years ago. Save yourself the trouble and cancel now. Rally for support and stick it to the big bad corporation.

People know AOL is a fucking bitch to get away from, but they still have millions of subscribers. It's like a separate online world that the ignorant users can enjoy because they've never had a real ISP. That's why I think a boycott would be totally pointless,

I spent 20 minutes trying to get it cancelled with their free offers and other bs. I told them that I have too many complaints from work about the service and I want it cancellled. The boycot is meant to allow people to know aol sux, get some feedback on personal expieriences and allow them to cancel if they choose. And then I was told it is cancelled only to find out it is not. I know they suck, I've heard it for years, I cancelled on the exact day I needed to and they still pulled this shit. spread the word, SERVICE IS CHEAPER ELSEWARE!!! And SERVICE IS BETTER ELSEWARE!!!

When we first got cable one... we had aol before and my computer loaded one day and just brought up the AOL sign on screen automatically and i must have hit enter to sign on... and i cancelled it but for me "trying" to sign on they added another month of service...

If aol was the only ISP in the world I still wouldn't pay $.01 for their "service" because I'd be overpaying by about $.03 in doing so. AOL is a friggin virus, once it gets loaded in your system it will take you a LOOOOOONNNGGGG time to get rid of its remnants w/o formatting and starting over.

I bought a computer from Best Buy also and had the same problems, AOL is the fuckin' hitler of ISP's, they can kiss my ass.

I bought my laptop from Best Buy, and it had all that BS on it, but I just removed all of the programs and any other applications for it. You guys need to clean out the sand... Jk, AOL does suck though, I remember back in the day when we were trying to cancel ours it was a b*tch.

Spread the word like it is a virus, tell anyone you know to get rid of it. Jim, I knew the whole time, i saved a few bux, I'll win, I know how this shit works. 4.5 years of customer service tells me this. I see it all the time. But still, FUCK EM!!!!! have everyone you know cancel!!!

what happened to the aol discs coming in the mail? i liked to take those pieces of shit and blow them up or put them in the microwave............but back on subject. aol sucks. period. end of story.

People started to return the discs so that aol would have to pay for disposal of them, when they came in the mail of course, no onw wanted to spend money on them.

Fuckers did it again!!!! These piece of shit people charged me again!!! I had my cancellation # and they charged me again! More poor service, 4 crappy people with horrible customer service skills, finally I get a new cancellation #. Nobody there is willing to help you when you want to close your accounts!!!!! ANother call for a BOYCOTTE!!!!!!!!!!!!
