Actually a mini-me can get quite expensive. you need head gasket, exhaust mani gasket, intake mani gasket, timing belt, valve cover gasket (roughly $160) you need to machine the head before it goes on ($30-$200 depending on how extensive you want the work to be), you need to figure in about $100ish worth of little odds and ends (plugs/plug wires, etc...). Plus depending on how you do it you may need to do some extensive wiring and getto-rig some parts, a mini-me can become quite a headache depending on how you do it. I say screw it, do the swap yourself. 🙂

Gonna need a ECU and and a way to feed oil to the head, wether it be an oil line kit or messing the the plugs in the block. Cant just bolt the head on and think your gonnahave VTEC.

the bottom end looks like shit...it spins over really nice, but looks = yucky...and i figure y not mini me it? i get better compression numbers rather than using the z6 bottom end (10.5:1 i believe is what the mini me yields with a 2 layer y8 hg)...also, the d15s have a better r/s ratio....that and i can say that i beat ppl in a d15!! haha...on another note, i dont have any plans to push it THAT far, so i believe the rods should be ok, even though d15's are supposed have some of the weakest rods ever. basically with this, i want to make the del sol faster than what it is, because, for example, on the interstate (like getting on onramps etc.) it sux cuz i got no power, so sometimes its hard to get up to the speed of traffic...on another note, when me and bartles went to go get the motor, the entire time on the interstate we nearly had to have it floored just to keep going (80mph 5th gear @ 3500)...so im hoping this will remedy that problem too because that fartcan got SOOO annoying having it floored the whole time...errg...sorry for the long post heh
