August 6-7th Street Legals

I might stop out one of the days for a little bit. Hopefully there will be a better turn out then last time and both lanes are open. Last time I got there and 15 min later the bosnians car broke and that wasted like an hour.

Ill bring the pony out to race that weekend though she does smoke like a mother fucker now....hoping for mid-high 13's

I hope to be there again, but not with the Camaro. I have beaten that car so bad, I don't think it will even do 14's anymore. I put 3,000 roadcourse miles on it this year and with a car with 150K on it, it needs a rebuild bad, tranny going out and engine is leaking oil.
I am hoping to bring one of my new toys, that is if I can get the fuel injection working right and get exhaust on it. Or what the hell, I could bring my girlfriends 4cyl fiero with 190K on it. I bet it would do a 20 sec 1/4 mile, lol.

Ok, here's my final analogy for those that want to argue that at least w/ 1/4 mile racing you can compare your results to someone in CA, FL, VT, IA, AK, AZ, AR, etc.... This is true, you can do that, however it is really similar to stereo competition. Drag racing is very much like SPL (sound pressure level), easy to measure results to verify how much power you are putting out. SQ (sound quality) is more similar to autocross, as it is more of an art to make all the components work together for a good balance. I've always been more of an SQ fan than SPL. Think about it, would you rather listen to 48 hertz all day long on your radio or would you rather listen to a wide spectrum of sounds covering nearly all octaves of human hearing?
-
That's a horrible comparison. Because I am a drag racer, but when it comes to audio I would much rather have an SQ system. Therefor your theory is flawed.
And in closing, if you're not there on the 6th and 7th Chuck, you are a wuss. Haha!

The point was that drag racing is MOST like SPL (hence the reason there is a DB Dragracing circuit...pretty similar and very smart thinking on the part of Wayne Harris for coming up with that idea as well) competition and autocross is MOST like sound quality competitions. I'm not saying that just because you like drag racing means your an SPL freak, just that the two sports are similar to each other in how they operate.

If the last of my parts come in time, I plan on being there. I'll have to pay a visit to Mr. Laske on the way to the track.

Altho it isn't on the schedule on the Interstate Dragways site, the Midwest Wild Bunch is scheduled to be at the track on the 6th and 7th also. These guys put on a heck of a show, I'm looking forward to watching them. I'm guessing there will be good track prep.
