The Civic Si IMO is not a sports car. It is a entry-level coupe aimed at daily commuting businessmen.

but it is classified as a sports coupe in insurance purposes and under harwoods description of a sports car... -
Insurance isnt just based on it being a Sports car or whatever, its the type of people who drive them, so on and so fourth.
STis are considered family sedans by insurance companies...
Who buys Civic SI's? Not familys thats for sure, its the young male who wants to beef up his civic and beat the hell out of it, if you didnt want to, then you would buy the dx model...
Now try insuring a convertible, turbo, sports car classified eclipse... in minnesota.

no thanks and they classified my SHO as a sports car at my old insurace so i guess it also depends on the company
-
It really depends on the person I guess on how much they want to bend you over. For me to insure a EVO is only like $127/mo for others I could see triple that.

I've been wrong before....

second that.
when i had my dsm, i went to my insurance company. i told the guy what i was getting and i planned on putting liability. he said it was the same as my old car (87 corrola) and that he had one before (non turbo) and that they aren't really sports cars so it wouldn't effect my insurance.
