Very true it seems to be that they always go for cars that are either fast or appear to be fast.....

hey i guess there doin there job to an extent. but if i didnt do anything while driving to make myself appear to be driving drunk, why do they still start giving u sobriety test. i was gonna just act drunk for a bit and fail on purpose, but once i seen that this guy really thought i had been drinking pissed me off.
im just getting irritated of gettin pulled. i have only been here 5 months. ive had a liscense for 7 years and have only been pulled 5 times. do the math
edit: glad to see that im not the only one

Want to see bullshit, go to grand forks. I got pulled over in GF when I still lived there and the cop took out a tape measure and measured the distance betweeen my sideskirt and the ground on my eclipse, then proceeded to tell me that I was just 1/2 inch from being too low. He fed me bullshit for damn near 45 minutes about my exhaust, lowered car, taillights, tint, etc... Yea, North Dakota as a whole has too many cops with too much time on their hands, but GF is the worst.

I was pulled over nine times in a two month period without a single ticket issued. I mean we are talking about everything from "accelerating briskly" to "suspicious behavior" to "questionable usage of turn signal??" (Thats right, questionable usage of turn signal!) My father called the police station and kindly asked the man on the other end if filing a lawsuit against the fargo pd for harrassment would get their attention(this is not the first time myself/father have been upset with the police). The man on the other end told him/us that all of these "so called insidences of harrassment" would be on file and each one would have a legitimate reason for a trafffic stop. He looked up my fathers liscence and plate and said, "everything looks in order" and hung up the phone. I havent been pulled over in about eight months now...

^lol I got pulled over often driving my old POS's. Haven't been pulled over in the subies (knock on wood) yet. Used to drive a 90 buick century and a 82 chevy luv and got pulled over at least once a month it seemed for something stupid. From everything to "I thought you were swerving a bit back there" to "there's a little bit of white coming out of your taillights, you should get that fixed, have you been drinking tonight?" (had a hairline, if that, crack in my taillight at the time) I figure all the times were just excuses to see if I'd been drinking or whatever, but it still pisses a guy off. One time a cop made me and my wife sit in the back of his squad car while he searched our car. Said our plates didn't show up on the "system." Oh, and when he found nothing but some loose change and some old dried up Mcdonalds fries under the seats and in the trunk he puts the plates (supposidly) back into the "system" and it comes up this time. And we both have clean driving records. Guess it just depends how bored they are, what the weather's like, and how much they want to stretch the use of the phrase "probable cause." Now I'll shut the hell up....

oh and to anyone that has a had cop just dive into your trunk without asking is in violation of your rights...you need a search warrant to touch the inside of the trunk/rear cargo area(station wagon)...just keep that in mind next time a cop just goes in your trunk without asking

^or glove box?

I just got a parking in fire lane ticket for parking in a loading-unloading zone for 7 minutes, my girlfriend lives on 3rd floor, you try to luge heavy bags up, take a piss and make it back down. This was in Jamestown.

yeah, this does seem to be a problem around here, I ussually try to nicley say something about how happy I am that all the real crimes have been solved and they have time to enforce the smaller ones. ussually pisses them off, but I get ticked at them wasteing my time for stops like this, I've been pulled over for "running a yellow light" cause it turned yellow when I was in it, "accelerating too fast" and my favorite "stopping at a yield sign" and on countless occassions the officer has asked me if the car belonged to me or if it was stolen. so if anyone knows who in ND has the plates that say "stolen" let them know I want them so the next time the cop asks me if I stole my own car I can tell him "yes officer! and you know it took me forever to find a car with these plates on it!"
but yes, it is really annoying, whenever I drive something else I dont' even get looked at even when speeding, hense this is a big reason I'm looking for another car to drive around, less harrassment.
