Lesson for the day.

I was in my Chemistry class today and we had an assignment where we had to find out who the people were who sat around us and I was luckily sat in the proximity of an intelligent domestic kid.
I had heard him going on a couple of days ago about cars and was wondering what the hell the kid was going on about. There is a Silver EVO at my school that I parked next to today but it was completely stock.
Oh well back to the subject matter, He was going on about how he figured a way out of getting into the parking lot in the school without squealing his tires. I thought to myself maybe he has some real power. So I asked him what kind of car he has and he said "Firebird."
I didn't remember what year it was but he told me but it was not a 4th gen. He told me he was running a "350 bore over .030~.040" He told me he was running stock heads but with some nasty big valves. Also there is a 650 cfm carb on it but he said it is running more like 800 cfm.
At that point it sounded like a complete dog to me. That is way too big of a carb to be running on a 350 w/stock heads. I asked "You wanna race me" and he was like "sure." Then he thought for a while then asked what do you have and I replied "Talon."
He asked what do I have done to it and I replied "Not too much but it should run high 12's." He then replied "Oh well yeah my car should run 11's." Later on in the class he told me that I would have to wait for this race because he is letting his engine break in.
I can't wait to race this guy and his bad 350 Firebird. I saw the car later on in the day and it was a third gen with back end way up in the air. This should be fun.

So stock heads but with big nasty valves huh? Yeah, I'm gonna have to call bullsheet on that one. Sounds like a tool.

The kid was because he couldn't even tell me really what he had done. He told me he had an aluminum intake but never told me which one or what brand of carb.
I didn't hear anything about his car for the rest of the class after that.
