              Because your 1g doesn't have a custom tuned ECU and, I am guessing, a 6 speed transmission with alot of overdrive in 6th gear.

                  The one in the f-body's and Early GTO's is a 346. There are many others available, www.ls1speed.com

                  Just had to correct that as its one of my pet peeves when someone calls the LS1 a POS 350.:)

                    The block can be resleeved and used with a stroker crank to achieve 427 cid, or a C5-R block can be used.
