I was referring to dimensions, terminal orientation, and the CCA rating. 500-600 CCA is plenty to start your engine even in the coldest times of winter. They have a good warranty on new batteries, plus the South University store was really helpful in diagnosing a bad battery a couple of winters ago. They let me bring my car into their shop, didn't charge me labor, and also gave me free felt washers to keep corrosion from forming.

I dunno, for some reason my car has always turned over hard. It always starts so long as the battery isn't dead, but it has always pulled on the battery really hard. the 500CC I have in it right now has trouble getting the starter spinning hard enough to start the engine. maybe I need a new starter...

I'm not sure why you keep mentiong a CC rating. This page on the Interstate Batteries web site lists a lot of definitions of technical terms. CC is not listed.
You should get your electrical system tested. I'm sure one of the Interstate stores would be happy to do it for you for no charge. I think all the automotive chain parts stores do it for free also. I suspect you have a bad battery or poor electrical connections.

ohh by CC I mean cold cranking, I always measure batteries by that and not the regular amp rating. I dunno, maybe it's just a thing from where I grew up.
-
ok I see they list it as cold-cranking amp or CCA i've always just said CC's shorter

Actually, after what I've heard recently about Optima, I'd recommend shopping for another brand entirely. Their web site claims their yellow top batteries are ok to discharge, but once they get damaged from that their warranty claims department will leave you hanging. This happened to the owner/administrator of one of the car forums I frequent.
