With the patriot act in place, and Cheney begging for exemptions that allows the CIA to torture people (even though they claim we don't torture people.. so why do we need it?)... is it really that far fetched?

Satire yes, but blown way out of proportion. not trying to start any arguments or debates or what have you but stop making Republicans seem like satans right hand man and Democrats as perfect little angels. Both partys are corrupt and become more extreme every year. Right now all the Republicans are going to look like crap because the Democrats can do nothing but try smear them, next time Democrats have a majority or even control a branch of our government (especially the presidency, which will probably be next election) nothing but trash about them will be public. Just because Bush does or says somethign doesnt mean that everyone who calls themself a Republican agrees with it. In a two party system its a waste of a vote not to align yourself with one party, and with that comes the fact that you get labeled as believing everything that your "party" believes which is far from true as im sure you all dont agree with everything the Democratic party believes in either....or do you think people that spill coffee on themselves have a right to sue mcdonalds? and that people who cut their nuts off with chainsaws can sue chainsaw manufacturers for not properly warning them to not use with their nuts? it goes both ways.
EDIT: and also the economy is on the rise again now with major gains yesterday as well. The whole "omg recession" thing was 2003, its 2005 now and its gone up since then. We cant all ride the dot com boom like Clinton did.

true? maybe, the dollar is now worth more than it used to be (in comparison to the euro). however, this means that either the us is gaining economic strength or europe is losing
