Exhaust tickets....

I think today I will run drop my exhaust after my headers and drive around Bismarck.

I highly doubt anyone would care. 1 pluss side to this redneck haven.

I would say argue that it does quite it. Think about how loud it would be without a muffler.

Here is what you should do. Get a friend with a stock deseil vehical and let them idle next to each other. And show them, that there are STOCK vehicals out there that are twice as loud as your car. Why do they not get tickets?

I've been warned. WEll, not even warned, the cop just stated I have a loud exhaust. This was just before new law passed though.

WRONG BLAKE!!!!! So after i got my tires balanced today i decided to go down to the police station and have an officer check my exhaust. I started it, let it idle for LITERALLY 10 seconds and he wrote it off...so im glad that he wrote it off, but there needs to be an agreement among cops on what's loud and whats not. there NEEDS to be a DB meter and limit. anywho, yea....thats what happened.

right... but what I'm saying is that you're not going to get tickets sitting there at idle. It's going to be while you're driving that they hear your car, and write you the ticket. I know that when the measure the db of your exhaust they do test it at idle for one of the tests.

ive said it before and i'll say it again...this just proves that cops are power hungry bastards that only wanna show ppl that they can boss them around. however, the cop that looked over my exhaust then signed it was very nice about it. so i guess they arent all bad. but a lot of em...sheesh

If they are going by the CARB standard it is since noone can tell what RPM you normally drive at. I believe it is around 95 dB that it has to be under to be compliant.
