ive said it before and i'll say it again...this just proves that cops are power hungry bastards that only wanna show ppl that they can boss them around. however, the cop that looked over my exhaust then signed it was very nice about it. so i guess they arent all bad. but a lot of em...sheesh

If they are going by the CARB standard it is since noone can tell what RPM you normally drive at. I believe it is around 95 dB that it has to be under to be compliant.

Yeah i was a little concerned when i wnet down there, but i saw one piggy, i get the impression that unless you fuckaround alot, you have nothing to worry about. But yeah, my car isn't quiet, at all, but i just went in smeaky sneaky mode i saw the piggy......no big deal

So it is not based on fucking around, it is based soley on how loud your car is at Idle then?.... If I was you guys I would fight it, there doesn't seem to be enough guide lines for it to even be possible. At what db is loud?.....
And if it is that big of a deal why wouldn't you try and do something about it, vs ramdom bitching on a website. No direct hit at anyone here just an opinion.

i was just going to school, so maybe shifting my honda at 4k means its too loud @ 8AM when there's no noise ordinace going on and when everybody is going to school/work and there's a bunch of traffic...its like cmon, why the hell did he do it and make me late for class?...makes no sense...then another cop listens to it and says its not loud at all...hrmmm...yea, fargo def. needs a db meter...if you take it to court, you are just gonna lose bc they will take the officers "o i remember pulling him over 2 months ago very cleary, his car was louder than it should be"...and then u r fucked...so really, fighting these tickets is pointless...the best thing to do is to just go to the station and have another cop listen to it...worked good for me anyway.

got off without the ticket...the officer that listened to it signed the back of it stating that "my car has been fixed" or somthing like that, when in all reality, i didnt change a damn thing.
