what is wrong with someone wanting some parts? If the want rice let them have it. If the want real power, give it to them. He was just asking if anyone had stuff they wanted to sell. EASY WAY TO MAKE SOME MONEY
-
Doesnt bother me any, just figured some people on here had stuff layin around and might want a lil cash for it

I see it like this, if he wants to buy ricer parts he deserves thread whoring. Therefore, I won't close it or delete off topic posts unless Mustangdude6977 requests this. Then I better just not post anything else.

so, did you decide you wanted to build a show car or did you decide you wanted to build a ricer? Either way, is fine, I just want to know if I should quit giving you showcar advice.
-
Im gonna do my best to build a show car even though everyone hates the idea of it.....but Im not doin it for them, Im doin it for me. Still gonna put a wing on though, I think it will go good on my car
-
a wing may look fine, IF it looks like it belongs on there. Nothing huge and no triple/double decker wings. CF might look good if done right. The key to winning shows is subtlety. Make the car look completely different while making it look stock at the same time. Its fricken hard to do, but if you can pull it off you'll impress EVERYONE. Look at Shane (tintmasters) WRX Wagon. It was pretty bad ass by most standards (he has the trophies to prove it) but it looked like every piece on that car should have been there. Nothing was half-assed and nothing was cheap. I often looked to that car to see what I could do for my own car (without copying it outright....we had very few similar parts). I know you're doing this for yourself, which is great, but if you are serious about the show car aspect you'll find quickly that there is no better feeling than to be called on the stage to win a trophy...even a better feeling when you win your class, and almost unbelievable when you beat cars like the one listed above. Trust me, I've experienced each of those feelings at three of the bigger shows in this area this past year. Beating Shane at autovations was surreal almost, sharing a stage with him at SCN was great too (he won, I took second). It all comes down to how serious you are.
I've never had it happen, but i'd be willing to bet that it would be very frustrating and annoying to enter a car show and have people point and laugh at your car (which does happen.....alot). So while I understand wanting to build a car to your standards, you need to understand that building a showcar involves building it to generally accepted standards....and then taking it a step further
-
I volunteer to point and laugh when necessary
THis includes all cars, not just the one in this convo. and I already do it.
