Yeah, ok found it. It's not available on thier website, you have to call or go in to the store. It's called Local Digital Choice, and there are various plans with it, but basically you don't roam in any of the three states, plus areas of WI.
You get more Anytime minutes and stuff... Call em up
They said they had nothing of the sort anymore. Just the basic plans from the brochure. -
When I had unicel, I had no problems.. $55 bill everytime but that was w/ all the add-ons.
I even used it out of area; never saw roaming..
I have T-mobile and it's so-so; I'd rather have more minutes IMO and not have to worry!
I use my phone less now cuz of less minutes, but to each their own, each plan fits ppl differently.. -
Just for the record, Cellular One uses CDMA and has the most complete coverage of North Dakota (I work with their former regional manager) and has a (suprisingly?) much higher customer satisfaction rate of any other company based on their ND customers. A few years back, there was a HUGE problem w/ CellOne not having enough bandwidth for all of its subscribers. There were constant dropped calls, I seriously thought about switching (summer of 2000) and then they switched their network to digital and service improved dramatically. I've always had good luck with their customer service as well, during that two month period when calls were dropping constantly, I was credited for about a month and a half worth of service and was given a promise of better things to come. I'm glad I stayed with them, it'll be interesting to see how alltel compares, but for the time being I'll stay with Cell One. Like I said, I've been with them for 6 years+ and have had great luck with them. In the past I had used Verizon (formerly CommNet) and was very dissatisfied....but that wasn't around Fargo, was more central ND. If it were my choice, it would be Cellular One (Alltel) or Verizon.

What happened to turn you off to Verizon?
For me, it is the fact that free nights don't start until 9:00pm. I am in bed regularly by 10:00 during the week so I can't see Verizon's plans working out for me. I would certainly be favoring them if they had a plan with an earlier start to free night minutes or more anytime minutes for the same price. The way it breaks down now for the same price:
Sprint: 200 anytime minutes with free nights starting at 6:00 or 400 anytime minutes with free nights starting at 7:00
Verizon: 450 anytime minutes with free nights starting at 9:00. The next plan up is out of my price range.

You said that you don't travel all that much, but it is nice to have a phone when you do. Sprint will not fit the bill really for that. Great where there is coverage, everyone I know with sprint, past Jamestown usualy has no reception. I have been with cell one since 97 IIRC? Not really had any problems, they don't have as great of phones in all locations. Once out of North Dakota I am switching to T-mobile.

WHo goes out west anyways? All they do out there is hump goats....;) . My only problem is my phone has been dropped too many times. For what Jason needs, Sprint is his best option. They cover all major interstates and most of the lakes area. If there is an emergency, there is always a thing called roam is he doesnt have service

I was not only speaking about North Dakota. Most of my friends I road trip with that have sprint can't make calls anywhere there is not a metro area. Ridiculous I say.
Not trying to argue just stating from personal experienceAlso I dont think I have ever seen a goat in NorthDakota besides at the Dakota Zoo?!

I have sprint and have for almost 5 years. There is places i will not get service in the area like around alot of trees and the river but i have made trips to ohio and had service almost the whole way. But made a trip to sioux falls and lost service half way there. In town is great. I wouldn't think of switching services.

maybe i was thinking of a sheep. They dont have much out west. Like i said "Handoex doesnt care about that"

What happened to turn you off to Verizon?Overpriced & poor reception where I lived at the time (still horrible w/ Verizon there to this day...cell one works better, but not perfect...middle of nowhere). I thought they had horrible customer service back then but I know thats gotten better. Basically cellone offered me everything I wanted in a phone and I've yet to find a reason to switch.

I honestly would get verizon in the future because that is what all my friends have. I also like there phones better. I still got a sweet deal with Sprint. (600 anytime) after 6 is free...unlimited internet and text messaging for 60 (46 without vision package). It works wonders when i tether to my laptop. My phone kept dropping signal when I made calls tho........then i took off the cell phone booster from ebay and havnt had a problem yet:o (i got it free)

My buddy had "CELLONE" and he had nothing but problems with droped calls, voicemail, and HUGE overcharges. But i think everyone has had thier little "mishabs" with all cellular companys. It sucks, and we all have our own opinions on the diffrent companys. Its just a "he said, she said" bullshit.
