Help me find a cell phone carrier
-
My buddy had "CELLONE" and he had nothing but problems with droped calls, voicemail, and HUGE overcharges. But i think everyone has had thier little "mishabs" with all cellular companys. It sucks, and we all have our own opinions on the diffrent companys. Its just a "he said, she said" bullshit.

lol, nice sales pitch! Don't waste your money on anything but Verizon. I promise(as I am sure Jim, Johnson... etc..) that you will not be disappointed. I live on 37th Ave in South moorhead, right by caseys gneral store. Sprint, cell one, and Unicel customers can touch service in my WALK OUT BASEMENT for christ sakes. CDMA has dominated this area...
Things to consider that I don't think have been mentioned...
There are SO many Verizon Dealers in town, and any one of them can help you with your plan. With sprint, You have to go to the One and only sprint store in 45th st colonade. I went in there with a friend and not only was the customer service crappy, none of the workers knew what they were doing, and out of the 20 employees in the store, they couldnt figure out how to transfer the phonebook out of one of my friends phones into th exact same model of phone. I am on a family plan with my parents and we pay 90/month for 3 lines, 1000 any time, free 9 nights/weekends and in calling.ALSO, I used to be on the LOCAL DIGITAL CHOICE plan so I know there is such a thing... I had 800 any time, free night / weekend minutes minutes and the only difference was that I roam if I leave the tri state area. all for 50 bucks...

Joel did you also see what he is looking at for "minutes" he actually needs for his phone? He uses most of his minutes from 6 o' clock on and i dont think VERIZON has a night/weekend plan like that and i could and prolly be rong?He wants little anytime minutes and a good night/weekend minutes, how does VERIZONS' plan work?SPRINT is the only way to go in his case,we have night/weekends starting at 6,7,and 9 he also can get a plan with 800 anytime minutes, vision, unlimited text(if he wants that sorta thing),for 56 dollors a month!!This might be a "RAPE IN THE ASS" to most other CARRIERS but its also a smart choise for him.I completely understand where you are coming from with the whole"customer service" bullshit too!! They suck...PERIOD!! and i hate dealing with them thats why i have only two "major"people that i go and see when i need help,i dont bother with anyone else cuz they DONT CARE and act like "EVERYONE IS A PAIN IN THEIR ASS!!"
by the way:I STILL WANT YOUR FUCKING PHONE!!! -
I used to have Sprint for one year, now with Verizon for 15 months. I was very happy with Sprint.....
- due to good customer service(45th location, the people at best buy are dicks)
- No broken calls
- Cheap plan(mine was like 39.99 for 200min and unlimited nights&weekends
Of course that was two years ago, so things have changed, I know my dad just enrolled my aunt with Sprint, and her bill is 39.99 with daytime minutes and unlimited nights&weekend, with $5 for every 100min over your limit.
I wanted to try a different provider so I switched over to Verizon(bad decision).
Pros=In callingCons
- Broken calls all the time both in Moorhead and Twin Cities
- Doesn't work on the I94, St.cloud up to Fergus Falls.
- Not a big fan of Verizon's phones
- My bill right now is $53.xx includes tax for 400 anytime minute and unlimited nights&weekeds.
I still have a year with Verizon on my contract. As soon as i'm done with Verizon, Cingular and T-Mobile would be my choice.

Tin, aren't you part of the T-Moile posse? I coulda sworn I seen you on there sayin "fees, shorty fees".If was part of the T-Mobile posse, I would be driving a Ferrari F430 by now rather than that ricer Honda.

LOL. Anyway, back pn topic. I use Unicel. My plan has unlimited anytime minutes in the calling area which includes the F/M area which works out good for me. I'm payin 44/month for it. the only drawback is that as soon as you go west of Fargo or south of St.Cloud, your in roaming. But as seldom as I'm ever down that way aor west of Fargo, it doesn't matter to me. So, it works out great.

i used to work at unicel and the rover plan(GSM) is decent for those who dont travel much... but if you travel outside the area you WILL be charged for roaming 25 cents/MIN otherwise they do have plans very much like verison as far as three state area and nation wide area in their cdma network. but i heard that within a year unicel will be bought out by verison and verison has nicer phones anyway.

The only bad experiences that you will have with SPRINT is their shitty customer service! The good experiences is that you can get a plan that best suits you,I think i even heard you can create your own plan...not quite sure have to look into it guess? For what you want for a plan, its the best way you can choose. What else do you want to know about SPRINT?

my vote is for sprint. ive used it for 3 years now and had great luck with it. yeah its a little on the spendy side.. but i think its worth it. theyve been nothing but nice to me.
when i bought my new phone.. i paid $160 and got a $100 rebate form to fill out and send in. i lost the form and went in and got a new one. they sent it back saying the dates didnt match.. blah blah blah. long story short.. i ended up getting a check for $150 instead of $100 to make up for the extra time and effort it took to get it.
it is a little odd sometimes though. im roaming in my friends basement in west fargo... just a few blocks behind home depot.. but im not roaming in the cities anywhere.

I had Unicel a few years back, I loved it!! I went all over the US and never got charged for roaming once, I am assuming things have changed with that though.
Then I got Verizon and it was ok...Wasn't happy with it though, seemed my bill was always high.
Then I got Cellone and hated it, yeah, its great if you and all your buddies are from buttfuck, ND. But, I rarely spend much time out on ND, except Fargo. I got it because my wifey had it, so I could get free cell to cell minutes. Anyways, I disliked the service so much that I paid the cancellation fee and got out.
Now I have sprint and I love it. I share a fair and flexible plan with my brother, and it works out great. Yeah, some will say if you stray off an interstate the service goes to shit. This is true. But, for you, I would say it definately is the best option. They now have the fair and flexible America plan, (I think that is what it is called). So, I really see no way to beat Sprint, you can get nights that start at 6, free roaming, and no overage charges, what more could you ask for??
PS I am watching the Victoria's Secret show right now, forgive any errors;)
