Help me find a cell phone carrier

i used to work at unicel and the rover plan(GSM) is decent for those who dont travel much... but if you travel outside the area you WILL be charged for roaming 25 cents/MIN otherwise they do have plans very much like verison as far as three state area and nation wide area in their cdma network. but i heard that within a year unicel will be bought out by verison and verison has nicer phones anyway.

The only bad experiences that you will have with SPRINT is their shitty customer service! The good experiences is that you can get a plan that best suits you,I think i even heard you can create your own plan...not quite sure have to look into it guess? For what you want for a plan, its the best way you can choose. What else do you want to know about SPRINT?

my vote is for sprint. ive used it for 3 years now and had great luck with it. yeah its a little on the spendy side.. but i think its worth it. theyve been nothing but nice to me.
when i bought my new phone.. i paid $160 and got a $100 rebate form to fill out and send in. i lost the form and went in and got a new one. they sent it back saying the dates didnt match.. blah blah blah. long story short.. i ended up getting a check for $150 instead of $100 to make up for the extra time and effort it took to get it.
it is a little odd sometimes though. im roaming in my friends basement in west fargo... just a few blocks behind home depot.. but im not roaming in the cities anywhere.

I had Unicel a few years back, I loved it!! I went all over the US and never got charged for roaming once, I am assuming things have changed with that though.
Then I got Verizon and it was ok...Wasn't happy with it though, seemed my bill was always high.
Then I got Cellone and hated it, yeah, its great if you and all your buddies are from buttfuck, ND. But, I rarely spend much time out on ND, except Fargo. I got it because my wifey had it, so I could get free cell to cell minutes. Anyways, I disliked the service so much that I paid the cancellation fee and got out.
Now I have sprint and I love it. I share a fair and flexible plan with my brother, and it works out great. Yeah, some will say if you stray off an interstate the service goes to shit. This is true. But, for you, I would say it definately is the best option. They now have the fair and flexible America plan, (I think that is what it is called). So, I really see no way to beat Sprint, you can get nights that start at 6, free roaming, and no overage charges, what more could you ask for??
PS I am watching the Victoria's Secret show right now, forgive any errors;)

A couple buddies of mine up here have Sprint, and they are absolutely terrible about exchanging out their phones that are defective.
Back in the cities, my friend doesn't get service in half of the places that I do with Verizon. Granted its back in the cities, but even up here, I get better service then they do.

7 pages on what cell phone should I get is quite hilarious. Alot of wasted space for a cell phone. I realize you want info, but why not go find out yourself. Mabey go out and look at what they all actualy have offer. Im sure for as much as you will use it, being as though you don't travel much any of the choices should suffice.

You are right, I should have just gone to the store that has plan A, even though they could offer terrible customer service, poor reception, and hidden details that I would have to deal with later
I'm trying to get as much feedback as I can so that I can go into this knowing what to expect. Through this thread, I think I got perspectives of each carrier that I wouldn't have got by just walking into a store.

Like I said, the only negative thing with Sprint is going to be when you go off of major roadways or cities, the service goes bad. But, now they have the no roaming fair and flexible plan, so that really doesn't matter anymore if you do go on a trip. My phone works great around here and anywhere I have been with it. As far as customer service, I haven't had a problem. I went in last week because my speaker was bad in my phone, they just said, ok, I ordered the part should be here soon, we will give you a call as soon as it arrives. I thought the service was just fine.

HowardForums says call the 800 number the plans are still available...
I went into Verizon on Saturday and they don't have any special plans....just the 450 for $40 or 1000 for $60 and the nights only start at 9:00.
I went with Sprint. 400 minutes with nights at 7:00 for $40. -
so, on that note, I am officially closing this thread as nothing else can really come from the original topic.
