New Shop In Town???

Obviously he's not the only 1 who will be working there.. He even quoted that he won't be the one working on the car.. Soo if they do good work and got good prices; we will see...
Many business's out there have from time to time made a bad example of themselves and still succeed... But in this case, I bet the shop doesn't even open and is probably a bunch of talk. Let's see if he proves us wrong! -

Road Sounds is said to be the one working on his car in the near future form what he has stated here and on NA. If he is opening a shop why doesn't he have his magical workers do the work on his vehicle. If he doesn't trust them then why should anyone else, says alot for them. His attitude seems to be a larger turn off than anything though. Seems as though there really isn't a market for another shop in Fargo. Basicaly all areas of the car scene are covered, who are you marketing to.
Most people with cars already are loyal to a shop in town with much more experience than someone who cannot do there own tunning and for reason. Tufte has been tunning and rodding cars since I have met the kid in high school, and has made some what of a name for himself, no offense but he has even worked in most of the shops in town at one time or another learning from experience. Shane has also done the same he was working and tunning Hondas and every other car in GF were he has dominated the market for years, from the White Civic with Green tint with the Giant wing, I envied in highschool at the local shows in GF damn near 10 yrs ago, to his ITR and other vehicles. You really have no roots in the scene and trying to plant them by causing drama and talking crap is not a very good start.

I am just curious how many of your people working at your shop are certified, or have installed more than 3 cd players in there entire life? Just because I have cleaner installs than best buy when I am half asleep doesn't mean I can just go open up a shop, treat people like crap, and expect to make it. Go ahead, open your shop. But be forewarned, your business will reflect on how well you treat your customers, wiht prices, installation, and above all-customer service.

Well, if he is smart.. He'll try and market not just the local area.. Depending on what all he does, but for most cases, labor is where the $$ is at.. Maybe he can try and swing in other customers with other ideas for cars... Not just an import scene in generalll..
Ex:'s.. OilChanges, Detailing, Tune-Ups, Get contracts w/ Audio Dealers, Accessories, etc
Anyways, the $$ needed to start a business is quite high; esp. since he'll have to make a name for himself and that could take a long time.. How are you going to pay your employees if your not getting business?? Some loans will be needed, insurance, and purchase of tools, and have stock of whatever else you try and sell... The list goes on..
But I question myself. medium cust. service and great work vs. great cust. service and medium/poor work.. I'd take the med. cust/serv over the great cust/serv and med/poor work, cuz the work is permanent, the cust/serv is just how you feel about the place. -

I don't think an asian can be racist, (except against whites). we are a minority in the fm area, so it's tough.

Im coming into this conversation a lil late.... but I agree with what most of you said about upsetting the customer base and starting up a lil drama. A few years ago there was a shop in Minot that did the samething.... they lasted the summer. Troy and Blake will know exactly who Im talking about. The stories sound very similar.
I also agree jumping into flooded market may not be a wise decision, but its your money do as you wish... I hope all works well. I've got a idea brewing in my head but Im worried about competition as well. Not really from anyone in fargo, but from people online.

Um...pretty sure ANYONE can be racist. If you are of one race, and are speaking about another race, what you say can potentially be racist. You could even be racist against your own race. It has nothing to do with who is the minority/majority in a particular area.
