I have never gotten a warning either. Bit Torrent is my friend.

a friend of mine got warned at his dorm a couple times. they told him to get rid of everything and bring his computer in so they could make sure it was gone. i just gave him one of my old hard drives that i never use, formatted it and installed a fresh (downloaded) copy of xp, and gave them that.

I've gotten my Cable One service disconnected. The thing is it's from the DMCA act and Cable One gets an email about a complaint of file sharing. Cable One is just complying with the law, even though it's a fucked up law. You can download a lot of things that are completely legal, such as music from labels that are not a member of the RIAA.

to answer your question tony...when you connect type..../connect irc.efnet.net the channel is mp3addicts
-
edit: /server irc.efnet.net

Sign up $10 and it will be the best choice of your life.
They have Mp3 boards and bittorrent boards. I got The Matrix 2 two weeks before it came out thanks to them.
Then I cryed because it sucked ass.

Which states all intellectual property in the digital form are protected by copyright infringment laws. Music is not the only thing. More bandwidth is wasted on the transfer of software then it is music by far. Interesting statistic is that 68% of the US software installed on the average workstation is pirated on one form of another. However, this is also contributed to retailers whom purchase their licenses from non-legit distributors. Microsoft is cracking down hard on chains/partners that distribtute illegal licenses. Best Buy right here in town was once given 100+ copies of MIcrosoft products, all inelligible for any kind of support since they were pirated licenses put in retail boxes. It's not a fucked up law, it's intellectual property and it should be protected. Have I ever broken it? Well that should be self explanatory by the threads I posted earlier. But for the most part, I purchase ALL my software and music, as I feel if I want to be contributed the artist or developer in the future by their sequel's in progress whether it be similar to the original or a new breed, that they should be rewarded for their work.
