i have now spent a bit of time on here today. been a few months since i have been here.
to be honest it was slow. not sure if it is faster or slower then what it was my last visit, but for a new server i am so not impressed.
i am on a 5meg/1meg cable connection so i would hope i would not be experiencing this kind of slow down. but i did.

i do like the new look.

I'm not sure what the deal is; I upgraded software, and servers. I'm not sure if the new software is much more intensive or what.

Oh well, I'll get it figured out eventually.

I have noticed an incredible drop in speed since the update. And that's not only form home (cable) but from work as well (dsl). It certainly wont stop me from visiting the site though.

ya it seems slower and alot more double posts becuase when you click post quick reply it doesnt reload the whole page

i am also unable to click a link in my email to visit a thread i am subscribed to.
i get this odd error.

Ok made some database changes, and did some optimization, it may help now

Its a bit quicker now, but I have noticed that a lot of time, the yahoo ads are slowing down the site because their servers are a bit putsy. Its usually not bad though.

given i have only been here a couple minutes now it is faster than yesterday. but have only hit a couple pages and this reply.

the email thing still did not work for me though.
i am using OE6 with my hotmail.com addy.

I've noticed alot of double posts since this update has happened. Too many in fact, to be a coincidence. Not to me, mind you. But most other members. What are people doing wrong to get this to happen?

I'm sure its becuase there is lag between when you click the button and when you see it; I'll turn on double post protection.
