NDSU Bomb Threat

Yeah I was going to take the "kinda" long way to get to the MU and instead I had to double back because they taped off everything within a square mile of the damn pack it seemed like...talk about an over-reaction.

a bomb threat and school continues on...thats bullshitI dont know if you are being serious or not, but you are dumb. If someone freaked out everytime something didn't look quite right, nobody would EVER get anything done. This shit is starting to piss me off. People need to quite being so damn paranoid.

They did take it seriously, they evacuated 7 buildings and cleared the scene. What else would you want them to do? There is no reason to cancel classes just because of something that didn't happen and wasn't actually a threat. If they did cancel classes for that it would set a precedent. Students would realize this and call in more bomb threats or put other backpacks down to get out of class or whatnot.

my point is if they took something seriously enough to evecuate 7 buildings why did they jsut let everyhting else go on like normal, like i said they shouldnt have done anything to begin with in my opinion i jut dont think something like that should be half assed, all or nothing

Here's what I really think. If the shooting wouldn't have happened yesterday then there wouldnt have been a bomb threat today. I say that because someobody would have just picked up the backpack or w/e it was and brought it to a lost on found. There were several bomb threats such as this across the country today, not just NDSU. Do I think a big part of it is Paranoia? Of course I do. However, I have to agree with nick (killer69penguin) that if it's going to be taken serious, that the whole school shoulda been shut down...how do we know if the person didn't drop a "bomb" off at another location across campus cough cough...
I know there's no comparision with the gunning down of two ppl with a bomb threat, but I think the same principal should be set across. If something serious like a shooting or a bomb threat happens on campus, why should classes continue on? If it's a serious threat, people should go home. There's no need to put oneself in the line of danger if not necessary.
So yes, part of me does believe the school should have been shut down today, however, I'm sure that if there wouldn't have been a shooting yesterday that there would not have been a bomb threat today at all...due to people not being as worried.

They took reasonable caution and secured the area that was affected.
