Maximus from gladiator

or

King Leonidas from 300?

That's a tough call, they both are great leaders, but without their applicable armies, it would seem to me that maximus survived more single handedly then Leonidas would have despite being a pure-bred warrior.

I would say Maximus, because as you said he fights alone. At the same time, Leonidas was bread to fight since he was born.

I'm going to have to say leonida's. His war tactics got him and his small band of 300 warriors were able to hold off ten's of thousands of persian warriors for what was it? Close to three of four days? Sorry...Leonida's FTW!!!

The strength of the group was due to the phalanx and the tactics of the group.

Maximus had conqured the germanic tribes for Rome... and was a natrual leader as displayed while instructing the other gladiators with no formal training to defeat those guys in chariots and such.

This isn't about if they were good at tactics, or how many people they held off, its who would win in a one on one fight....
