help on cell phone

So i have had this phone for almost 2 years now, and it decides to go out on me. My contract ends in July but i need a temporary phone. My phone is verizon. What are my options in getting a phone? so far i know of:
a. replace the phone (80 bucks)
b. tough it out without gimpy phone
c. get a new phone before the 2 year contract ends and miss out on the 100 dollar rebate
d. get a temporary used phone and program it myself online (free)
e. buy a completely new phone and continue it through the next contract agreement.as far with choice e, i want to run with verizon, but not buy from the verizon website. In other words, do unlocked phones work with this courier? if they do, what websites sell phones that are not carried by verizon but still work? I am looking for a phone that has a good daily organizer or scheduler.doesnt need to have a camera, just something to help plan my day.

Add a second phone with the same minutes. Then you'll get the rebate at the end. Then you can get a new phone with the $100 rebate. Throw your first one in your car as a back up.
I would stick it out! If you need a planner hell get a paper one. Hell thats alot cheaper.

so your saying i should add a phone line and buy another phone. in doing this, they will give me a rebate but the contract will still end on july...correct? If so, then when the contract ends, I can buy another phone with the 100 dollar rebate and switch phones if i so desire. correct?

Kenn you should be eligible for a new phone with the discount 2 months prior to your 2 year date as Chris said. I know we got ours like 1 month before our plan ended and we still got the discount.

alright i just added a new phone line for 9 bucks cause the phone was free. I cant get a new phone for discount because the 22 months is the month of July. anyways, are there any phones that verizon doesnt sell that would work with verizon?

no the phone costed me 0 dollars. it was free if i add a line for 9.99 a month

if your talking about like a sprint phone or attel or something instead of a verizon phone you can have them sent in and get them reprogrammed but it does cost money i was going to do it with verizon when i went threw them cause i didnt like some of the phones they had to offer....im not sure if thats what you were asking

Verizon has the best phones, at the moment, so I'm not sure why you'd want to reprogram a shitty sprint or alltel phone (isn't alltel just a reseller now anyway?)
CDMA phones can be activated on the internet via Verizon's site... given that its a verizon branded phone.
