Alright I'm going to put my two cents in on this...
I run a board myself, it used to get out of control. Now we're nazi's when it comes to stupid shit and it has been a pretty well run board for the last year and a half. Minot is dramaville and we'll have a thread or two pop up every couple months, but nothing major.
This board has a lot of BS posts involved, and I have been involved with a few, but I try to stay out of them. Look @ my post #s. There is never anything to reply to, and if I can lend a helping hand then I will. I've been in the "import scene" for 5 years now and what I remember when I was coming up to what it is now is two totally different things.
I am sick of reading about "if my car had this it would run this" and "you're slow" and "you suck" etc. The key to having a good board is having good content. When every post gets whored out your content diminishes and in return the board takes a shit.
Jim i'd be more than willing to help you clean this up if you're interested in the help. Just let me know.

Good question, but I don't think I have the answer. How about comparing Fargo the way it is now(tension between shops, drama, ego, etc) to how it could be(no grudges, everyone is cool with everyone, we could ALL get together and have a good time). God damn, why can't the second one be a reality? EVERYONE misses out on so much good shit because they don't like someone, or some group of guys. So they won't hang out with them. Everything car related would be so much more fun. Car shows, dyno sessions, days at the strip, all of it. I know this won't happen, but just sit there in front of your computer for a minute, that it did. Do you like it? If you do, act on it. However you want to.It was Joe's choice to say what he said to me. No one forced him. But it CHANGED shit for the better. That's all it took.

I post on all the dumb topics because i'm not the best with the whole knowing everything about a car...I love them, i love driving them but i dont know jack shit about them... so that's why i kinda stay my nose out of the Tech forums

I'll ditto everything that GSR just said there. I too help run the Northern Animation forum that is based out of Minot, and I have to say, we keep that fucker as clean as we can. It used to be terrible,, but most people on there got the point that it started to suck, and cleaned themselves up.
This is really funny, someone just started talking to me on Messenger and it went exactly like this:

Yes he does get on people's cases about buying ricer shit, but I'm just like him in that respect, and would like to see people do PERFORMANCE mods, instead of RICE. There's already plenty of rice here, so why not get some more performance going?
I think a lot of the problems on this forum could easily be solved by some good moderators that aren't biased in any way towards anyone. I would gladly help out moderating if you need some help Jim. I don't hardly know anyone on this board and that's because I make it a point NOT to meet any of them, and that's based on what and how they post shit on here. If you're going to be a retard on here, then you're more than likely a retard in person, and I don't want to be involved with you!
I bet that if there were some GOOD car clubs, and some good constructive competition, the scene would be what it really should be. I'm one of the people that say car clubs are gay and dead these days, and that's because they got so fucking stupid!! LIke 3-5 years ago when I got into the scene in Minot, of all places, it was so fucking good. Everone had a cool car and not just a fart can and a gigantic wing w/ neon covering their car. It was great, we had BBQs, our own track day at the track, and had shitloads of representation at shows. Now days there is none of this. It honestly wouldn't take that much to clean up the car scene around here, and that goes for this forum too. I honestly think that both the whole scene and this forum are going to either make or break each other.
Oh yeah another thing I wanted to say was, people should fucking proof read their posts! USE PUNCTUATION AND PROPER SPELLING. A lot of forums will delete your posts if it's not clear and easy to understand. That does help to clean shit up, I guarantee it. Well that's all I have for now, take it or leave it. Unbelievable how well this is on topic!

Ok, I'm going to start out by saying, that everybody here that has posted in response to this topic is gulity of going off-topic. It's just one of those things that happen.
Next, I'll say when members talk shit about Fargostreet, it bothers me. Other people? Not so much.
I could go on flaming things people have said in this thread, but really it's not going to get me anywhere, I'm not going to win any friends over it thats for sure. I'll be the first to admit, i don't agree with alot of what's been said.
Secondly, the site isn't a year old. I absolutely hate sites that are moderator nazi's. I can't stand it!
I think the main problem that Fargostreet has that other sites don't have, is that most of us know each other and see each other on a very regular basis, this means the teasing, the shit talking, the general bullshit, can easy get out of hand very quickly. We all also frequent the site MORE then regularly (admit it... common you know you all do).
Let's not talk about who's more mature, or who's not mature, i don't think its anybody's call to make becuase EVERYBODY has particpated in the bull.
I compliment both Wes and Chuck on providing GOOD input on what they would like too see instead (and spending the time to type it all out), instead of just saying that FS sucks.
GSR, see the problem with fargostreet and the content, is that to be honest, how much is ever posted (whored or not whored), even back in the day? The people who apparently are detoured from posting, if they are the only content posters, there really wouldn't be that much anyway.
So I guess what I'll say is that, it does get boring and stupid when people go on talking shit to other you slow, you suck etc, I don't have a problem moderating that shit; HOWEVER I dont think it needs to be done pre-maturely.

Well nick talked to me earlier and had me remove sls from the website all together, as its a bad reflection on him. honestly nick, you know that'd be something that i wouldn't want.
let's see if we can all agree on something for once as fargostreet members... here's what i purpose and you guys can add or subtract from this
we split the forums up, the off topic forums will be left moderated by me, the bullshit can flow, but nothing to out of control such as actual personal shots that are serious in nature, things that get like 10 pages long with no real purpose and stuff like that.
the other section will be on topic. i will be willing to appoint moderators that are non-partisian to anything; people that will make a decision not based on personal opinon but on what is going to be good for the board / scene. anything off topic will immediatly be removed and transfered to the offtopic or if it just sucks, be deleted.
I just looked, there are 16 of you viewing THIS TOPIC so I know you all have opinons. chime in, this is your (the members) views that need to be expressed here.
EDIT: also let me know if you would be willing to agree to stop some of your own bullshit before it begins...

I also want to clear up that I dont think this site sucks at all. In fact it can be quite fun at times. Yes theres alot of B.S. butit is usually in good fun. I dont think it needs a major overhaul, just a little tweaking here and there. And as the site matures these things will happen. It probably wont happen overnight. But I guess I aint going nowhere and I've waited longer for less. One thing I would like to see is for Jim to Send a Email to all the members as they join explaining exactly what rules he personaly would them to adhere to. I've joined a couple of forums before that do this and I knew there and then what is expected of me and my conduct. Now this might be far fetched and asking alot but it would give new users along with old something to adhere to and they cant say that they never read it.

Heres how it should go...
Split it up to a car talk/tech/information section. Appoint a worthy moderator or admin. Tufte, GSR, Blake whoever Jim thinks is up to task to moderate it.
Make a bullshit/casual lounge section. Anything goes basically. Jim will moderate it as he already said. So if you got a problem with it, don't go there and complain so we're all happy. You have the right to visit any part of the site for input, but if you complain in this section, you're wrong because you know why it's there.
When we click on new posts, it'll link us to either the bullshit, cartech sections or both, you choose.
I also have an idea about modding our own made thread. If you want it to keep on track do it yourself. PHP should have a certain way of the thread starter being able to delete off topic posts to keep the thread on track. Just make sure they can't see IP's, or anything an admin can see. Just make it click on posts you want out, and simply selecting delete.

I think alot of people on here make good points about the website as it is now, and where they would like to see things go. Here is where I am coming from... To an extent, it does not bother me if people want to heckle each other back and forth. I understand that is part of being friends with people, I mean ask anyone who really knows me I love giving people shit. The only thing that bothers me is that when people on here turn a legitimate thread (classifieds, or a a good question), and turn that into something it shouldn't be. If you want to give people shit, give them shit, but make a seperate thread in the off topic, or run your mouth area. However, some times it just gets to be too much. I think that all the members on the board are here because they want to be. Some are bored, and some just want to keep up on what's going on in the fargostreet world. I think if everyone would just take a moment to step back, and look at it from both perspectivies, and we could all have a mutual respect for each other it would go a long way.
To summarize a long post. I think that we should all try to start over again. Guys who don't know alot of people on here, post an introduction, and let's try that with a fresh slate, one in which we all maintain a professional level of respect for one another. If we could do that... we could avoid 99% of the problems we have.
And Jim I would be more then willing to help if you need it.
