Rock 102 Billboard
-
Anybody seen the billboard in Imports Plus lot? I went by there tonight and someone taped a green hula skirt ofer the bikini. I thought maybe this was what they were doing to them all. Nope i passed two more on my way home and they were normal. Did someone really climb up there to do this?

Fuck them if they did

I remember a quote in the paper from the Rape/Abuse crisis center saying that the ad caused men to objectify women... drawing a dotted line towards sexual abuse/assault, etc.
I'm right there with you if you're saying that sexual assault is shitty. But come on -- have you people ever been to the mall ? Half of the window displays are more risque than this stupid billboard.
I hate it when people don't understand the difference between correlation and causation.

Fuck the displays even, look at all the real girls there. I've never seen so many slutty ass dressed 12 year old girls in my life, it's sick/sad how skanky looking some of them are at that age.

It's not sad that the young girls dress to mimic their slutty/skanky rolemodels. **It is sad **that their parents let them dress this way, and even more importantly that they don't teach them to think less of those women in the first place.
I'm soon to have three children. They take after your every thought, and will listen to whatever you say. If you start educating them young, they'll learn.

Before you count on your children doing the right thing and not dressing/acting inappropriately by taking after their parents, you might want to change your avatar image

I'd also be a little hesitant to post something to the effect of "do you ever notice how sluttly 12 year old girls look" in a public forum

I do think that US society oversexualizes children, but I don't think that a grown woman wearing considerably more garments than what you'd see at a beach contributes to that problem.
I'm surprised the billboard thing got as much attention as it did. It sounds like another instance of someone thinking they have some inaliable right to not be upset by things. That "right" hasn't and can't ever exist in a free society.

When you have to double take because you normally only associate that type of dress with an older highschooler/college girl then yes, it is slutty in my opinion. I don't remember girls in middle school wearing 4 inch long skirts around in public. It's sad and gross to see...

what kind of a sign was this, my dad manages all the newman signs around here and kinda wanted to ask him about it ha
-
It's a newman

everybody talking about this sign is just showing how well the sign works. more people are talking about this sign more than probably any other sign put up in the fargo moorhead area. so as far as the advertising people at rock 102 are concerned, the sign worked better than they could have ever hoped, because no matter what you have to say about the sign, good or bad, you have noticed the sign and know what it is about.
