Pretty soon here I am going to need new rear tires. I need a high performance tire. I don't care about wet performance, if they do good thats a plus. The car is used for auto-x, road racing it is also daily driven most of the summer. I do drag race but plan to be buying a differant rim and tire combo for that later. I currently have have Falken rt615s. They didn't last as long as i would have liked(5500) at the moment, yes I know burn outs at the stip and all that kill tires......

also, size. 275/40/17 is what i would like. im going to do some messuring to see if they well fit, if not 255/40

I really like the pricing of the rt615s.

    PM me for:
    Sandblasting(I use glass beads)
    Diesel repairs or performance products.

Honestly, your not going to get a better tire for the money than the Falkens. If you buy something else in the price range, they may last a little longer but will not perform like the Falkens do. Yokohama has some tires compareable but they tend to be a bit more pricy. It's going to have to be a compromise somewhere and I personally would sacrifice longevity for better traction. If you are going to auto-x/road race at all, stay with a good tire. The only real option I have for you would be the Nitto 555's. P.M. me for details.

          my fronts have 80+% left.

my backs just like to spin to much, i cant rotate tires, and also my back tires are cursed 4 nails in under 5500. I think they would have lasted alot longer if I would not have drag raced with them. and had such low pressure. I think this was a message i should have gone bigger...

          wes:
ya those nittos are not very high on my list. lol. I take it you can not get falken?

The wear on these tires is really strange. I have some decent neg. camber, so i know whats going to happen. I never overinflated them, but the centers are gone, and the edges are still fine, with the inside being way more worn.

There is no problem with them lasting. With a treadwear of 200... You will be lucky to get 10k miles being nice to them. That's how they were designed. PERFORMANCE is the name of the game. If you want longevity, look elsewhere. You want street legal grip, they are your tire. I only wish I had a decent outlet for them.

Contrary to popular belief, negative camber is NOT the big problem with tire wear... Toe adj IS. Yes, even on the rear. 90% of the time, if your camber is off.. your toe will be too. Obviously camber can wear tires, just not like toe can. If the center is wore out, it's definately from spinning. That's considering they haven't been run alot overinflated.

I try to run pretty much 30psi in them.

I know what your saying. but my camber is not where is should be according to factory spec. its about -1.5degrees more then it should be.

Well, that is a little much but obviously not enough to cause uneven tire wear in this situation. At least not on the edges. However, you may notice such wear on a higher mile tire because it will have more time to develop.
