Hey everyone, my name's Kyle. I am 20 and a junior at NDSU. I transferred here after doing my freshman year at at Rigewater in Willmar, MN. I drive a 2000 eclipse gs. I wanted a gt, but it didn't really work out, and it's also a sportronic automatic which is even worse, but hey, I still like it. It's not fast and I don't claim it to be fast.

I've pretty much decided I'm keeping it untill I get out of college though, so I'm doing what I can with it. When I got it didn't have anything for performance parts and had wheels on it that looked like big chrome flowers, and had chrome altezzas. It now has a K%N short ram intake, CMF header, Magnaflow Exhaust, 17 inch black Motegi DP-12's, Black TYC tail lights, and blacked out corner lenses.

With just simple I/H/E the acceleration is still pathetic and depressing, so I'm currently collecting parts for a turbo set up that should be pretty nice. It's gonna be based off of a turbo and mani from and evo VIII, evo fpr, fuel rail, and WRX injectors. Should be a fun little project. Then I'm hoping to add a higher stall torque converter so it's not such a snail off the line.

Reading around on my 3g eclipse forums it seems that the I4 responds alot better to boost, so that's one good thing about having an I4 I guess......

I've been a member on eclipseforums.org now for about 2 years and kinda know how forums work and what is going to get you flamed, most of the time that is. I love cars and have been obsessed with them since I was probably 13 or 14. All cars, imports, domestics, exotics, I4, V6, V8, whatever. I can recognize hard work and a nice car. I'm really into performance, but haver never really owned a nice, fast car, the nicest cars I've driven have all been friends cars.

I kinda stubled about this site and thought it was a pretty cool place to find out what was going on in the area and meet and talk to other car guys around here.

Well, that was a nice little essay. Now for some pics of my car. It needs a couple things, a drop, tint, and a wings west lip kit are planned for the future...

      Welcome to the site.

Great looking 3g. Definitely needs to be lowered though. 🙂

Definitely needs to be lowered. People talk about it being low, but it actually sits up higher then a stock grand am!!

I have a turbo, manifold, downpipe, and an evo IX fuel pump. If you have a spare fuel rail or fpr laying around though that would be helpful. I've been lookin around evolutionm.net, but people arn't too good for responding to their pm's.

Yup, it's a 4g64. SOHC motor. The exhaust mani stud pattern on the 4g64 SOHC head and the 4g63 head on the evo, and dsms are the same though. I could have used a DSM manifold too, but most likely would have had to eliminate the A/C. I will still probably have to bend an A/C line a bit, and use a spacer on the mani to get the compressor housing to clear the starter.

Not on your V6 though:lol: . But yeah I'm gonna be running an evo 8 turbo, manifold, possibly downpipe, but it may have to be modified a bit, fuel rail, fpr, fuel pump, and injectors from a WRX. Also planning on doing a 5spd swap with a LSD, upgraded clutch, and flywheel. Then tuning it all with ecuflash by either swapping over to a 2001+ manual ecu and flashing the evo rom onto it, or switching to an evo ecu. We'll see when it all actually gets done. I really wanna run it at the dragstrip next may, I havn't taken it out there for fear that after getting my timeslip I would have to kick my own ass.
