Probezilla New Best!!

Went to Interstate Dragways for the Midwest Wild Bunch Weekend. The MWB crew brought quite a few cars. They had a couple 6 sec dragsters and some wicked altereds and a handful of 7/8 sec door cars. One of the dragsters crashed on the big end and destroyed the car. The driver was ok.

Probezilla had a good day as well. I've been fighting boost issues with it not going past wastegate boost for some reason. (25-26 psi) I replaced the spring in the Hallman boost controller and that seemed to be the ticket. I made my first time trial and it ran a 1.26 60ft and a 8.84@155mph. It turns out after I looked at my logs that I was running 39-40psi!!! I noticed that the nitrous shutoff on the transbrake because it hit 40psi, which is my safety cutoff. So on that pass running 39-40 psi I ran 8.84 on all boost. I then turned the boost down 1 turn and launched and cut a 1.21 60ft !!! It ran 123mph 1/8 and 158 mph in 1/4 at 8.59!!! (35-36psi spraying 75 through 1st gear)I went a third pass and cut a 1.20 60ft!!!(by best) but had to get out of it. I think it went a 9.70@100mph. Last pass I ran a 8.98@151mph but after looking at the logs, found I was only making 25-26psi of boost again. So time to ditch that controller. The car is still rich, but safe, so there is more in it for sure. I know for sure it will do sub 8.50's with some tuning.....or with a 75shot the whole pass it might do 8.40's.
Overall a very satisfying day.

Thanks to my wife Lisa and daughter Brianna for helping. They are getting pretty good at packing the chute! Also to Daveh for slaving away.

PS-My 8.63@158mph was 35psi on one HKS intake cam and one stock exhaust cam plus a 75shot the whole track. Goes to show how much both cams really shine together. Today, faster on same boost and only spraying through 1st. Pretty cool.

Got the text from Dave today telling me your pass. I scared my ife and neighbors hen I gave a huge WOOT from the garage. They all came running thinkin I hurt myself. Big congrats Matt. Look foreward to seeing the video.

The dragster that rolled on the top end of the track was going 178mph when it went through the traps, then all the sudden it was sideways and rolling. It was a crazy/scary thing to see. Was good to see the guy walked away, the dragster didn't fare so well.

Awesome vid. That sucks for driver of the wrecked car.

Congrat again matt the Wild bunch was awesome that 32 or 34 ford pickup was runnin 6.90's and pulled up the front end for the first 200+ feet of the track. On a side note that 2JZ "Aristo" of paul's is really sweet I told him he should show it at P-10 hope he does. For those of you who have not seen this car in person its a treat lots of polished bits under the hood. BTW when is Dave's supra going to hit the track, not much time left before the snow flies?
