The drama with Skylines continues...
-
Just an FYI as I think most of us wish we could own a Skyline sometime, but it looks like Motorex is finally going belly up...
The company helping me sell my Supra (VIPImports) has been trying to get their R33 legalized through Motorex for 6 months. 2 weeks ago VIPImports called me and asked me if I wanted to buy an R33 at cost (you can actually see both cars on their website) b/c Motorex was trying to move it quickly.
I get an email from VIPImports this morning letting me know that he's flying down to SoCal to pick up a GTR and then i found the thread on Freshalloy.com. The most well respected GTR guy in the country says:
"I think Hiro (Motorex owner) might run. If he owes you a car, or money, I might be sitting outside the door of Motorex." "The Motorex era is probably pretty close to ending. No C-West. No Best Motoring. No export cars. 2 legal Skylines in the last year. 40 cars sitting. Lawsuits.... "

wow alot of people will prolly get screwed! they offered you a non-legalized R33 at cost?Well, they told VIPImports it would be legalized, which VIP in turn called me. I said I couldn't swallow that now and suggested to him that he probably shouldn't have 2 Skylines (he already has one coming) in his posession. He said he would sell it to me at his cost ~ $42k or so.
Now I'm really glad I passed on it and didn't put any cash towards it.
I bet a person could get a non-legalized skyline from Hiro for next to nothing now...
