He was feeding you BS if he said that. There is not 17k in mods on the car even if he bought it stock. He told me he got the bolt in case and rims, everything else was on the car. It possibly has a built motor, but if so, why does it have a shitty turbo setup(bottom mount stock turbo)

Werd, there's a few dealers across the country that will deal in JDM parts. The one near my hometown does (also a NICO sponsor), and the parts manager is one of my best friends, haha.

This post is a little late in the game, but i have heard of people shipping a disassembled car from japan to the US then reassembling the car and calling it a "kit car" to get a US title.
