Vetran cuts down Mexican Flag

Holy Shit!
I didn't know it was illegal to fly another countries flag over the american. Also, all the anti-american BS on that website and the many others that post americans doing what they think is the right thing to do to preserve what this country was founded on gets really old. Most of the people that bitch are from countries that got there ass bailed out by none other than the US during previous and that's the thanks we and our veterans get.
Kinda off topic, but does anybody else that uses spell check in firefox show "america" as being misspelled? Mine does, WTF.

It's not just other countries, it's ANY flag. There is a reason state flags are always a couple inches below the American flag as well. The only place I believe another flag can be flown level with ours is at the UN building though I'm not sure if it is level or if it's higher there still. It shows it as misspelled because you're supposed to use a capital A...

The old dude should be arrested for stealing that man's property and for having a deadly weapon while stealing his property and challenging him to a fight. From the looks and sounds of it he belongs in a nut house anyway.I wouldn't expect anything else from Democrat  (minus Chuck)
Ignore the fact that the Mexican store owner was breaking the law and attack the patriot who fought for your right to judge him.

You jump straight into calling the guy a beaner (which is no different than calling a black person the N word or a mexican guy saying racist shit to you). That crazy veteran guy jumped straight to stealing property to solve a problem. I don't have that mentalityIf it's illegal, it would've gotten taken care of anyway.

Because he doesn't deserve the respect of being called a Mexican for doing it. He's a disgrace to all law abiding Mexican citizens. I'd be willing to bet one of the things they teach immigrants when coming into the country is that the US Flag always flies above other flags. Therefore if he was a legal immigrant he should have known that and respected that. If he's here illegally he should be deported regardless of this situation.

I'm glad you make the judgement call on who to call racist names and who not too...

September 11, 2006, President Bush and first lady Laura Bush stand on a carpet of the American flag at Ground Zero in Manhattan, the site of the September 11, 2001 attack. Section 8b of the Flag Code reads, " The flag should never touch anything beneath it, such as the ground..."

"In July 2003 President Bush autographed a small flag. This picture was circulated across the Internet noting its violation of the Flag Code: "The flag should never have placed upon it, nor on any part of it, nor attached to it any mark, insignia, letter, word, figure, design, picture, or drawing of any nature.""
zomg!!>!>! bush doesnt support our troops (not only becuase he sends them off to war for an unjust and unlawful cause) but becuase he stands on an american flag! /zoaisdfj

The argument could be made that the man who tore the flag down, is more of a criminal then the man who flew the mexican flag above the US one.
"punitive enforcement would conflict with the First Amendment right to freedom of speech, as the U.S. Supreme Court has ruled when the subject has come up in the past."
"The United States Flag Code establishes advisory rules for display and care of the flag of the United States. It is title 4 of the United States Code: 4 U.S.C. § 1 et seq. This is a U.S. federal law, but there is no penalty for failure to comply with them"
Note the no penalty for failure to comply.
Vigilante justice should not be tolerated, and proper officials should be the ones to take care of such an issue. But wait, they are all just beaners, so lets not worry about that.
Actually, after re-watching the video, I found that the man tearing the flag down to actually be in violation of the same law...
"The flag should never be drawn back or bunched up in any way. "
"The flag should never touch anything beneath it."
It's a dumb issue, just a flag violation doesnt mean that someone is any more or less patriotic to america. Hell, you might as well mandate that you put fly a flag in every residence, and have a special task force to ensure proper flag code obedience.
This dumpster violates the flag code as well. Should we tear it apart and burn it? Do you think the persons intentions were to violate the flag code?

I'd go up and shake that veterans hand and tell him "thank you, job well done". I don't really care about the legal aspects, as much as flying another flag over ours is simply disrespectful. The shop owner sure didn't seem to want to back up his shit did he.

Your without a doubt one of the most conservative people haha.I'm actually technically a Libertarian...I don't fit into the definition of a true Republican nor do I fit the definition of a Democrat.
I'd also be supportive of any charges against Bush for defacing the flag as well. I'm no adamant Bush supporter by any means so go right ahead.
As far as the flag being crumpled and or not allowed to touch the ground...the Vet didn't let it touch the ground in the video from what I can see. He did crumple it yes.
Also IIRC the same rules do not apply to "flags" that aren't actual flags IE Paintings, floormats, etc. Otherwise kids who draw the flag on a piece of paper and end up dropping it or throwing it away could be punished.

I think it's in poor taste to do what the <u>American</u> man from mexico did, but the other man should be fined for theft and harassment.
I do think that it is funny that people from all over the world come to live in the US, then do things that show their loyalty to there "home" is more prevelant. Thats just stupid. If you feel that way, perhaps you should go back to where you came from. It's not like we force immigration on anyone.
