since were on the rwd topic, can you convert an evo to rwd by taking out the front drive shafts, or is it like dsms where you have to make dummy shafts in the front? 😕

you need a viscous coupler to do make them FWD or RWD, otherwise you'll just end up burning up your diff's

Actually...you need a viscous coupler eliminator, or a welded center diff, or spool.. 😛 If you don't have that...it will burn up the viscous coupler, not the center diff. I know you meant to say that...I am just being bored, so I thought I would clarify.

isnt it way harder with an evo? like it costs a lot more to disable? i dunno bout all you but i like the spool idea 🙂

At first I did it for fun, then I realized I made the investment and had to do it!

Hmmm....ok, your description makes more sense than mine, however I have heard of subie owners burning out diffs when they just unhooked the driveshafts...but maybe they were confused too.

thats cause a DSM or evo drivetrain is way different than the symmetrical awd system that subaru's use

correct me if im wrong but i think in a dsm the front axles turn the driveshaft, and of course without the front axles the car wont move.
