modded saturn?
-
whats everybodies thoughts on me modding my 2001 saturn sl1? ive already found parts that would fit and have planned them out, but still not so if i should or just keep trying to convince my parents to let me get a different car.
-
yeah I agree.. do what you want to it... but the preludes are nice and probably better to mod. That's just my opinion though
-
my only problem is that my chance of getting a new car is extremely slim. if i knew i was going to get a new car, i wouldnt even bother to think about modding my saturn, but im probably not going to get a new car.
-
well then I would say go for it... it's your car do what you want to it.
-
boost it! i strongly considered turbocharging my saturn, but i decided that i don't care about speed with it. with 9.3:1 compression, it is begging for a turbo. if you want a turbo that will be street-friendly and easily acquired, get a t25. it will be a perfect addition to the car, you'll give it more power that will feel quite natural. and if you want it too appear stock, get an exhaust cut-out (costs less) and use a smic from some car... you will have a great sleeper.
sls can help you figure out the best way to go, kevin and nick know their stuff -
no tengo dinero para comprar un turbo.
-
well...im a little short on cash right now, so that makes it tough to buy stuff

i was able to find a company that makes aftermarket parts solely for saturns. there selection was pretty limited, but i was able to find an exhaust system, intake, suspension, some little engine tweaks. thats pretty much it.

i believe www.rsmracing.com has parts for saturns...i havent checked it since i was into modding my grand prix

like i said, sls would be happy to help you with getting parts and installing them. the basics of what you will need are the following:
fuel pump 100
fmu +/-100
turbo manifold 100-500
turbo 100-500
smic <200
piping -cost dependant on ic
exhaust 100-500
misc +/-100
see? you can make it work for less than 1k, esp if you know people who are getting rid of used parts in favor of bigger (smic for a fmic), etc. if you do the work yourself, still less expensive; that's why you need to look at all the possibilities before ruling it out. i'm telling you, every performance shop in town (with the exception of those that don't know turbos) will be happy to help you figure out what you need to make your project work. [red-green]i'm pullin' for ya, we're all in this together[/red-green] is kind of the mentality of the motorheads around here -
changed my mind about modding the sat. gunna keep trying to change my parents minds about getting me a new car. i do feel my dad is giving in a little.
