Since there was a post about a bike i thought I would ask what I (or anyone else for that matter) would need if they ran at the track with a fast car...i know you need a roll cage, harnesses, helmet, and possibly a kill switch? can someone fill me in on specific requirements so we can plan this stuff out before the track opens
Thanks,
TonyIf you are talking about the "street legal thunder" put on by Tintmasters I don't believe you need any of that. Here is a link to what I found for rules.

2004 Tintmasters "Street Legal Thunder" Rules
- Vehicle must have valid license and insurance
- Vehicle βMUSTβ run mufflers OR pass sound decibel check if running through cats
- DOT Tires & slicks permitted (THIS MEANS SLICKS ARE O.K.!)
4) Vehicle must conform to NHRA rules - Vehicle nust have seatbelts
- If using nitrous, nitrous-oxide bottles must be stamped as meeting DOT 1,800-pound standards
7) Vehicle must pass NHRA pre race tech - Driver must wear pants (shorts, nylon pants prohibited)
- Driver must be 18 years old WITH valid Drivers License
- Driver 16 or 17 years with valid Drivers License may participate with parents consent form filled out (e mail for details)
edit: just remember my car isnt a regular 15 or 14sec street car...not sure if you knew that or not

NHRA chaged their rules so you dont need a cage until 11.49 now. If you get into the 11's you will need a fire jacket, roll bar if 11.49 or faster, approved helmet, battery kill switch if battery located in rear of the vehicle battery, battery vented outside the vehicle if not a dry cell, working seatbelts or approved harness. That should probably do it.

I think you need shoulder too, just buy a 4/5 point harness they aren't that expensive. -
