Comments on AMSOIL

Possibly the best motor oil on the market. Period. It's basically just a very well thought out synthetic that doesn't rely on PTFE for sustained lubricity. Teflon (PTFE) does absolutely nothing inside an engine. Teflon must be heated up to about 800 deg. F to get it to stick to anything for friction reducing purposes, just like the Teflon on a frying pan, yet in an engine suspended microscopic colloidal Teflon particles can potentially gradually attach to the oil pick-up screen & reduce oil flow to critical components as well as reducing the oil flow in other critical internal engine passages by attaching themselves to the passageway walls. In addition, as the oil filter filters out some of the Teflon particles, the filter flow rate can potentially be reduced which in turn may eventually become restricted & default to the by-pass mode of operation, which means unfiltered will then flow through the engine.
They have been making synthetic oil since 1972 and truly live up to the name "the first in synthetics".

Sounds like they are trying to set themselves up as dealers actually, so they wouldn't really need to order from another dealer. I also am not in need of amsoil...I sell it as well.

they have independent 3rd party groups test their oils vs. others. All of their claims are based off of 3rd party studies, unlike Royal Purple, Slick 50, etc... who do all testing in house. Besides, the 800* adhesion temperature is straight from DuPont. So that part is pretty indisputable.

Mobil1 also doesn't use PTFE (last I checked)

I bought about 100.00 worth of tranny fluid last summer...
I didnt use the oil...

Sounds convincing, but I will never need it. Not when I am dumping mobil 1 every 2500 miles.

i used it in my race car this year. engine oil, tranny fluid, gear lube, air filter, came out almost as nice as it went in. i could put 7 shows on the amsoil engine oil and it was cleaner than 3 nights on valvoline NSL racing oil. great stuff
