Hey, I bought a 96 escort wagon for the winter and it has an astrostart remote starter. It works great except the car shuts off again after running for 5 minutes, hardly enough to warm it up. I have no idea how to change any options on this thing. I assume its a fairly old model, I dont know which one is right but it has the following numbers on it.

on the PCB: Astroflex Inc. 109-052-302-09
on a sticker on top of the battery holder: 392--052-300-10 rev 0 0F04245-002 11/03

there are icons on the back of the case, one is

    (start) + (lock) = (clock symbol w/ up/down arrow)

which seems to indicate that if I push start and lock at the same time it should increase or reduce the time the car stays on. I tried it and it doesn't seem to work, maybe I'm doing it wrong?

Anybody with any experience with old ghetto astrostarts?

You need to drop the brain to increase run time.

the brain should have little dip switches and you need to put 3,4,8 up hit the brake, put them all down again then hit the brake again. that should work depending how old it is
