Fords going to loose more customers
-
So will ford loose customers from what you've scene or will they LOSE customers from what you have SEEN?
Goes to show that MSUM still can't teach students an ounce of grammar for shit

On this subject, yes Ford has been shooting themselves in the foot regarding Mustang licensing stuff. They've forced several Mustang enthusiast sites to change their names too because they claim they own rights to the Mustang name.

How's that "lets sue our customers" thing working out for the RIAA ?
Ford has exactly one product line that enthusiasts and normal people alike have coveted and respected for 40 plus years. If i were them I wouldn't be looking for ways to piss off my most loyal fans.
In this case, I'd be looking to buy the rights to the calendar for cheap and to stick it in show rooms or something. Looks like a well done product and would strengthen the ties between Ford and "Mustang people" instead of piss on them. And Ford would spend more money setting up a single car photo shot than it would take to buy up the calendar rights, give everyone on bmcforums a copy, and put another 100,000 copies in US show rooms.

Ford is outta their damn mind!!!!!! The mustang was their big chance, they took a gamble in 1964. They put out the mustang early to beat out the corrvette. Hence the 64 1/2 mustang. Wasnt supposed to come out until 65. They won that gamble!! They have been producing them every year since then. Why does ford think they can take away peoples love of the car? by keeping people from using the word MUSTANG in their clubs and such. I an a ford fan but this whole situation makes me sick!!! It pisses me off. Who made the mustang a raving success????? Not ford! The consumers DID!!!!!!! Ford is just being a fuckin baby. Its like listen to kids in back of the car. MOM!!!!! so so is lookin at me!!!!!! WWWAAAAAAA!!!!!!

What a load of shit! these are privatly owned cars in the pics! wtf! you gonna have to sign waivers to take pictures of YOUR OWN car next? this is corporate greed at its best! i am sure the pricks are trying to make them license the calander, because ford might be able to make a buck off of it. i hope it hurts the bastards, ford that is. Fords new logo "BUY OUR CARS, SO WE CAN KICK YOU IN THE BALLS FOR BEING PROUD OF THEM" wow! im kinda speechless.

Ford isn't the first company to do this, but they are making the biggest stink about it I think...

This is not news just a new example, Ford has been doing this for a couple of years now. This instance is retarded but there are several others that are not, and ford has rightly gone after them. Then it just becomes a problem of where do you draw the line? Ford has apparently chosen not to draw any lines and is pursuing everyone.

We've been watching this discussion with interest and I'd like to
clarify what is essentially a misunderstanding.Yesterday we spoke to both Cafe Press and the Black Mustang Club
and explained the situation (about the Black Mustang Club’s calendar) to everyone's satisfaction. Ford has no problem with Mustang or other car owners taking pictures of their vehicles for use in club materials like calendars. What we do have an issue with are individuals using Ford’s logo and other trademarks for products they intend to sell. Understandably, we have to take the protection of our brands and licensing very seriously.Ford did not send the Black Mustang Club a “cease and desist” letter telling them that they could not use images of their own cars in their calendar. The decision not to allow the calendars to be printed was made by Cafe Press, because we had gotten in touch with them in the past about trademark infringements on products they sold.
The Black Mustang Club, and any other Ford enthusiast club, are free to take pictures of their own vehicles for use in calendars or other materials as long as they don't use Ford trademarks in products that will be sold.
I think it is great that the Black Mustang Club, and any other enthusiast club, would take pictures of their own vehicles for use in calendars or other materials.
I'm looking forward to purchasing a copy to hang in the garage next
to my Mustang (even if mine isn't black). Thanks for giving us the chance to have our say.
