Hot street race
-
I saw a pimp street race last night, and thought I would share. :drunken_smilie:
I was walking south bound on Broadway and came up on the one way. As I was skipping along I could only hear reving. Then I saw the perfect street race. It was like F&F 4 unfolding before my eyes.
There was a Astro van, and a V6 Mustang getting ready to race. As they sat there reving there motors I saw a cop pull up behind the van. They didn't.
Green light!
They both floored it. It was like watching slow motion, no wait. It just was super slow. The cop sat back and watched, he just let them race.
About a block into the race, and my 2nd deep breath to laugh more the cop hits the lights. He then pulls over the winner of this epic race.
First to guess the winner gets a e-cookie. :icon_salut:

What did they get pulled over for?? I doubt either of them were able to squak the tires, and in 1 block, they probably didn't break the speed limit.....

Unless the cop heard the engines revving..
For all he may know, is that they were committing "excessive acceleration"
So unless he waited for them to break the law by speeding - which broadway I believe the speed limit is 25mph (not hard to surpass)
Also, a AstroVan & V6 Mustang don't seem to be your common street race.
The guy probably got pulled over for speeding & only got a ticket, if the cop could clock the driver. That'd be my guess.

You can be ticketed for either exhibition or what's known as "drag racing". They are not one-in-the-same. The exhibition is $150, where the racing cite is $300 I believe.
Thankfully, the officer I ran into was nice enough to get me for exhibition, when I deserved much worse.
