No, from most people I have heard who met him, said he was pretty much a grumpy old man. I don't mean to take anything away from him, but this is what I have heard.

I actually met him this summer. He did seem a little grumpy, but if I had to sit a few hours and greet people I don't imagine I would be that happy either. His wife was pretty nice though, it was kinda the opposite of what I expeced, because she seems really crabby on the show. RIP Boyd.
