My Grand Marquis (84) is wayyyy too tall. The fender to wheel gap is huge and it looks like it's on tiptoes. Any ideas on how to safely and cheaply drop this beast? I don't want it tucked or anything, just a nicer gap. I plan to put wheels on her soon and it would just look stupid the way it is now. I'm asking cuz I don't know if there is a different way to go about lowering a huge domestic or not, having not owned any domestics before. Ideas?

Spring clamps. those are cheap and better than cutting springs.
