time to say good bye to the talon

well its official my dsm cost more to maintain then i can afford. so what do you guys think i should look at getting that cost in the neighborhood of 10,000 dollars or less? i'm looking for something sporty, good on gas mileage, and fast enough to at least hold its own against a stock gsx

I bought my 1g for 2k and put like $1500 into it for repairs. Then I called it quits and sold it for $1500. Just to think what I could have bought with all that wasted money.

Good luck finding a car under 10k that will hold its own against a GSX.
Cars to consider:
00+ Celica
03+ 4 Cyl Tiburon (Yes they are that cheap already)
99+ Cougar
94+ Integra
92+ CivicThe older you go, the more likely you are to break. I'd stay away from 3000gt's, Stealths, 300zx's etc... they break just as much as our DSM's.

Ever think of going domestic?
A six-speed LT1 will get better mileage than a GSX.
-
Not bad mileage either.
-
25 hwy and 17 city for the mileage
-
I think they run around high 13s low 14s on street radials plenty enough to beat up on some DSMs.

i suppose this is way out of the question.. but ever thought of like a 96 or so buick? with the supercharged 3.8l v6 they come with about 240hp and 280tq. plus theyre some of the most comfortable cars ive been in. probably not enough to beat a gsx but id imagine it would keep up fairly well. maybe even come close if not beat it from a roll.
just a thought.

that car is also an automatic...
in response to amicheze you can get a 99 grand prix gtp for 10k...it prolly wouldnt be too hard to find a regal gs(same car but more luxury) for the same price...they run low 15s but 14s can easily be achieve with like about $100 or so

are you looking to buy a stock car that can beat a GSX? if not there are plenty of deals of cars out there that will beat a GSX for like 3-4k....might be mustangs lol but i dont doubt there are others

don't suggest mustangs, he can't afford to keep up his dsm, how can he afford to keep up a mustang?!?Ouch!! Play nice now.
Seriously you're aren't going to find much in the neighborhood of $10k with good gas mileage and the ability to keep up with an AWD DSM. I was going to suggest a 94+ GT but gas mileage isn't that great as well.

Tuftes red civic hatch disagrees. -
look on honda-tech at the cars that are forsale. then there most likey to be already sawped. but if u want to do it urself just buy a hatch and a k20 and that will beat the pants of a dsm
