Holy Shit this has been hell. Feb 21st I went in the hospital for surgery to correct my sleep apnea. The Dr. cut the shit out of my knose and throat. He removed my tonsils, the flapper that hangs down(uvula) and then reshaped the top of the back of my throat(soft pallet), then he removed bone and redid my septum in my knose. I was relesed Sat and man it has been holy hell. I have lost 16 lbs since I cant eat and man the pain pills are good shit. I wont be able to go back to work unitl March 10th. Hopefully all this pain has a good result

    time to pop more pills

All this and you're still gonna be ugly when you get out :icon_joker:

man that sucks...but isn't sleep apnea also cured by just wearing this piece of head wear to bed too instead of surgery?

Hope the recovery goes well. I'm trying to get my dad to get his apnea taken care of. He uses a cpap machine now but it doesn't help a lot.

I thought sleep apnea wasn't a serious condition. I was taught that, if nothing else, you would wake up and start breathing again.

its when your sleeping and your throat weights enough that it will close on itself. More commonly found in overweight people. OR just google it??

It can be corrected by wearing a cpap machine but my pressure is so high that I cant sleep with it on and I get no results from it

my sleep apnea is so bad that I stop breathing 118 times per hour, every time I stop breathing my heart takes a extra beat and I have a history in my family of bad hearts. During my sleep study I would stop breathing for 28 secs at a time and my body would never get any rest at night and would always be tired. When my heart beats a extra beat it can change the beat pattern and stop and then I would die in my sleep like Reggie White did

my family and deviated septums.. and i suddenly realized today is one of those rare days when I can breathe through both nostrils. so something's going right. I'll be up for the same surgery when I finally save enough to pay for it. One of the other guys at work is going through it at the end of this month, taking two weeks off for recovery.. absolutely not going to be long enough.

Good luck on a fast recovery, man.
