Meets, rides, etc.

So, who is going to step up this season to organize meets, rides, dances, brunches, silent man auctions, etc? It's sad that bismarck apparently has a more organized scene than fargo. If none of the local stores want to support their customers, I am just going to assume that the stores hate us all and consider us nothing more than profit and or liability, and want nothing to do with any of us unless we are buying something. I would hate to be correct. Why don't I quit my bitching and do it myself? Simple, nobody knows or gives a shit who I am, I don't have a parking lot or any other place to meet besides maybe my garage, and I have a feeling most people who would show up wouldn't like me that well anyway being as I lack the alpha male attitude so attractive for bromance. So, I'd like to start this thread as a formal request for something organized this season. Seconds? Thirds? Anyone got any connections?

Just because they don't organize a stunt session doesn't mean they don't promote things. Look at what Solid Performance has put together and MAJORLY promoted at the 1/4 mile strip! Have you seen how many more bikes were out there last year? I don't know who they have sponsoring the trophies this year but the prototype Ethan posted had Envy on as a sponsor so they've helped out too. Now it may not be get togethers but they do shit.
Also, I know last year there was talk of Bike Nights at Solid Performance on the Tintmasters forums. I don't know if anything ever came of it but it looked like Ethan tried to put something together.
http://www.tintmasters.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2748Some organized get togethers would be cool. I know pretty much no one with a bike either so it'd be nice to meet some new people.

No bike nights due to the cost of insurance.
As long as there are Street Legal races again this year, there will be a motorcycle competition.
As of right now, the only sponsors for this years races are: Tintmasters, Solid Performance, U Motors, Playtime Performance, Ground Assault, Chaos Racing, Trafik Jamz and Nip & Tuck Alterations(GF)
JohnW, please refresh my memory.....which bike were you running at the track last year to support what SP and I had "done for the scene"? (There is a fair amount of sarcasm in this statement......but in all seriousness, did you support/contribute to our effort?)
Here is one suggestion, talk to Shane at tintmasters about possible using his parking lot for a bike night each week. Mainly just as a get together/hangout, with a ride to follow. Be prepared to clean up after everyone though............if Shane or Jason arrived to a messed up parking lot the next day, I wouldn't blame him for shutting it down ASAP.

I was going to an extreme there, I know some of the shops in town do sponsor the drags, good on them. Personally, I'm not that interested in drags as far as bikes go, I'd like to see meets, rides, BBQs, things of that nature, social shit, and thats what this thread is about. For every shop here in the area noticeably contributing to the scene, there are 2 that aren't, at least not that I have noticed. I heard the talk last year, and I was actually pretty jonsed about it. As far as I know nothing really came of that, I don't pretend to know why, but it's definately sad that nothing went on. There are tons of people in the area with bikes, more than enough to rep fargo with a vengance if anything was ever organized. It seems like bismarck is repping over a hundred deep, why not fargo? Seems like the scene here is cliquey at best, fails pretty hard for a city of this size.

Nope, I didn't, I don't really have any interest in dragging my bike. I was out a few times in my car, paid my fee any whatnot if that helps any. Im not going to appologize for not wanting to do something. Im not going to go to a show for a band I don't like to support whoever is promoting it either. Anyway, thats not what I was getting at. Also, I forgot, thank you for doing what you do.

And I will ask again.......What are YOU going to do about it?jesus, I think I covered that.
if there was something going on that i was into, i would support it to no end. i would be more than willing to contribute in any way I can. im not going to lease a storefront, renew by business licence and fail at running a shop however, if thats what you are suggesting.
I can't do better, I'm pretty sure I said that. I just think for the size of our town, it's pretty lame that no one is organizing meets.
I myself have 9 different flame retardant suits for these occasions, but anybody else, don't bother posting anything unless you have the personal resources to fix it yourself. Come to think if it, if you did, you wouldn't need to post. Also if you want to complain about the lack of apples in a fruit salad, beware of the people who bought the oranges.

I hate to cause drama, but the reason these meets started had to do with fargo and me. Two falls ago I was going out to college in Wahp. I went to fargo to ride for a weekend and everysport bike guy I meet and tried to ride with was a d-bag to me(not saying everyone there is just the ones I meet.) It seemed like each group had there own 4 rider click and didn't care about anyone else, or your bike isn't nice enough type shit. I didn't want Bismarck to turn out like that so last spring I just rented a shelter and had a bbq and ride. We had 40 riders show up. Than I got in with cycle hutt involved and they made it happen and it just grows and grows. Yes, insurance is costy for each event they hold but they just want to support the sport. Just run a BBQ like I did or a bike night in a parking lot somewhere and the word of mouth will spread.
