An Autocross, or Solo II event is a low‐speed driving skill contest run on short courses that emphasize the driver's ability and the car's handling and agility. Competition licenses are not required, and the hazards to spectators, participants and property do not exceed those encountered in normal, legal highway driving. All you need is a helmet and a car. It's you against the clock on a course lined with a sea of pylons. Whether you're interested in pushing your own limits or you're just learning the skills of driving, these events offer safe competition at over 1000 events across the country. If you have an interest in automobiles, an interest in motorsports or just like to drive, you would enjoy participating in our Autocross events. Getting involved is easy, simply show up! You need not have a fast or agile car, the vehicles participating are classified by car make, model, etc… and there's a class for everybody. A wide array of vehicles participate in these events, and everyone has an equal chance of winning.General Event Suggestions…
To get through the registration process more quickly and smoothly, you may visit our website @ www.sccabadlands.org and print off the registration form, fill it out and bring it with you to the event.
Before leaving home, clean your car out thoroughly; this includes glove boxes and pockets.
Your car will need to pass a Tech (safety) inspection before you are allowed to compete. Your battery must be properly secured (not sliding around in its tray), all tires must have a measurable amount of tread (no cord showing) and the car cannot be leaking fluids.
If you have a helmet, bring it if it is a SNELL SA95 or M95 or better rating. If you don't have a helmet, don't worry, there will be a few loaners available.
You will be in the sun/rain for the full day, so come prepared for it. Comfortable clothes and covered shoes are a must. You may also want to bring a lunch of your choice, water and other liquids (No Alcohol! This includes all spectators too!), sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat of your choice, umbrella (good for sun as well as rain) and a tire pressure gauge (if available).**Questions, contact Cletus J.
