I go to my parents farm when I want to shoot stuff.

Chinese or Russian SKS? and what kind of rounds do you use? I've been getting the cheap remington 112 grain and they have a horrible consistency.

We shoot out by the gravel pits by felton, and some other land east of there.

      My own personal collection:

      H&K USP .40
      Ruger .357 Magnum
      Benelli 12 Gauge

Dads that I have access to:

      Bersa .380
      Another H&K
      Remington 12 Gauge
      S&W .357 6" barrel
      Lever Action .357 Winchester Rifle
      Unknown brand .22 revolver
Ruger .22 (every family in America owns one of these I think)
Kimber (model I'm unsure of) .45

He's looking to add an DMPS AR15 to the collection within the coming months.

I put 60 rounds through my AR-15 yesterday out at horace and it was amazing. Made me very happy that I built it.

My next purchase will probably be a Remington 870 w/ pistol grip/stock combo.

I have a Chinese SKS and my father has a Russian version. For rounds, we got some cheap ammo from Cabela's a year or so ago for a VERY good price...they seem to be working out just fine.

I think your problem is expecting the sks to be consistent........ it is however consistently inconsistent

It has been my most reliable gun thus far, and the only one I use for deer hunting.

ha i am not saying it isn't reliable.... prolly much more so than an AR

I was bashing on its accuracy

and a funny picture in my head of you hunting deer with an sks 🙂

                      guns - another hobby I can't afford...

I'd like to build an AR15 myself before they get ban.t again. Then pick up something that'll keep a consistent group at long range, maybe in the .308 caliber.

I'd recommend just buying a Colt 6700 (Pre-ban Competition H-Bar). They are plenty good from the factory, and will only go up in value. We have 2, 1 personal and one for sale. When ours just had a bi-pod and cheap 3-9 scope I was shooting pop cans at 350-375 yards using cheap ass Wolf ammo... I need to try it out for coyotes with the nightvison scope on it sometime...
