well i guess this time we were lucky enough for just an attempt. iw as at work this morning and got a phone call from my neighbor telling me our garages were broken into and that i should come see if i got anything stolen.
when i got there there was alreadya police officer there and he was tending to the other garges a little ways down the row from ours. they literaly butchered our key hole thing open to gain access but luckily i had pulled the wires back far enough to where they could figure out how to short them out. they did the exact same thing to my neighbors garage right next to me but he disconnected his along time ago.
the garages down the way had agarage already open and they just went into that one and started kicking through the drywall to gain access to the next 6 garages. very annoying becuase the person who left their garge door open was the damn manager to the building who ALWAYS leaves it open.

i really think they were coming just to break into our garge becuase our was like brutilly hacked to hell form them trying to get in and then i think they planned on kicking in my neighbors drywall to get into ours. beucase after our two garages they went to a completly different part of the garages and started kicking in the drywall.

at this point im very annoyed at how much this is happening and its making me very pissed off. should i be complaining to the managemenet of the building about lack of security around the building or the fact that these "keylocks" for the garages are a terrible idea?

the officer said that the keypanels should work jsut fine beucase they are designed for if the panel is removed from the outside the wire woudl just fall down. but they used solid cored wire that doesnt move anywhere when removed( ive tried several times).

Sorry to hear homie, that is really gay.

Hook up some motion sensing alarms and or lights, and put plywood on the sheetrock, maybe wireless video cams too.

Sheetrock in garages is lame. Too many wrenches go flying in my garages to have sheetrock. Shitty on the break in man. Time to set up a sting operation.

                  I wanna go fast!

                          ^Holla!

You should keep your garage door closed all the time. Do not work on your cars with the door open. If you have parts in there, cover them up or put them in boxes labled kids toys or something stupid.

I wouldnt recommend it cause its not all that great, but it is a decent price and it is portable/movable from place to place. I plan on buying one in the near future. This and a cheap motion activated camera woudl be less than $300 or so

You should bring this up with the management company. Maybe they will install some cameras outside. Its not like they dont have the money. This has happened way to many times now, in the same garages.

Good luck. Camera systems are not cheap and trying to pry money out of a property management company is like trying to get water from a rock.

those damn keyswitches are a pain in the ass to keep secure. Honestly if you don't tie the wires off to something, people are figuring out they're jumpable more and more often.. put a spring on the wires that pulls them back if they disconnect, or hook them around something that'll fall away from the wall. I've run security-head bolts through the siding on a couple to keep them from being pulled off easily, followed up by washers and nuts, bent the bolts over afterward so they can't be removed from the outside anyway.. but if somebody really wants in, they'll find a way sooner or later.

the longer it takes to get into something, the better chance of deterrence and the better chance the person doing it will get caught.. best bet with a garage is just keep your valuables out of it, though.

kicking in the garage walls, there's bound to be some kid running around town with a cloud of dust billowing behind him. somebody catch this little pigpen.. I bet his car's full of drywall crap too.
