Funny guy... even a raptor 660 cant keep up with the predator. Ill race ya after I order a new header and exhaust for it.
If I would have waited 1 more week I could have had the Troy Lee Edition... bad ass gearing in that thing... kinda wish I would have waited for it.
I ride up north in minnesota mostly... By roseau near the polaris factory. Sometimes see some crazy shit up there like a polaris sportsman 500 h.o. with 35inch tires on it driving out into a lake and around the lake and then back onto shore... the polaris engineers bring their bikes there to test new stuff out all the time. Go at the right time and you will see some pretty cool shit.
Im going to check out the sand hills out by hinkinson I think it is... where do you ride?

I smoke craptors..... I dont know I haven't been in the quad game for a while, all I know is when it comes to straight line racing, drags, hill climbs, or dunes. Banshees are the way to go or where at least, they are like supras
But the handling isnt so hot compared to newer quads. -
Well if you compare banshees to supras... then the predator is the skyline of the quad game. No lie... this thing is smoking fast, does some killer wheelies, jumps a lot better then anything I have ridden, and handles better then any quad in the game. Its a very versitile machine, made for dune riding, racing, jumping, and trail riding.
Polaris has sold a lot of them down sout to people using them for dune riding, a ton up here for trail riding, the only place it hasnt taken off is pro racing... and no one can understand it because the pro steering system is the most inovative thing ever. It can out corner any quad on the market.
I wont lie tho banshee's are bad ass machines... they have been around a long long time and there is good reason for that. But its time for a new generation to take over, and the polaris is quickly climbing to the top. Voted best sport ATV for a couple years in a row. Not to mention its the most "race ready" machine on the market... requires no aftermarket mods to race it.
We should go riding some time ill let you give it a go... youll like it.

We've got an old school 250r at the shop that would show you who your daddy is in a straight line, turning, jumping, etc.

And bullshit on the predator being the most "race ready" quad on the market.
#1 Race ready quad = Yamaha YFZ450
#2 Race ready quad = Honda TRX 450RIt will not out corner or out handle either of the above. It hasn't taken off in pro racing because it weighs a fucking ton for a "sport" quad. If there was a "touring" class of quads that is what it would be.

And if you want parts, I am a dealer for Elka Shocks, Axis Shocks, Lonestar, Hyper, and Quad Tech. Been around the quad stuff for quite awhile, never owned one, but wrenched on enough of them, and ridden enough of them.
-
i'd have to say the new bombardiar quad is the number 1 race ready quad....plus the turbo kit for it is cheap!
-
Well I aint getting into this is better or thats better. Just please pass my message along to anyone you ride with, cuz its way more fun riding with more people.
Cuz who ever buys it will keep up with any quad I gurantee it, if not pass them. In fact sunday I'm going to wheelie this bitch some more once the wedding is over. HA! -
I have a couple of ATV magazines here saying the Predator is the most race ready quad on the market. They are legal to drive right off the showroom floor and race in any race that doesnt require a 450cc or less machine.
How is it heavy? 415lbs is not that heavy for a quad... and id like to see your little 250r outcorner, out jump, and out run me. Im going to have it in town this weekend cause after my classes saturday ill be going out riding.
See its people like you that give the predator a bad name... people that think the japs are the only ones that can make a good quad. Hate to say it but polaris is the #1 selling 4-wheeler in the world. The japs dont have shit on any of polaris' other machines they only rival them in the sport market... and not for long. No one else has the pro steering set up that polaris does... they have the patent for it. Also the predator is quicker out of the box than any other quad because it transfers weight when you launch it so it wont stand up as easy as another quad meaning it grabs the ground and goes.
Trust me read some articles about it and you will find out. Its not the best on the market but its god damn close, and YES ITS THE MOST RACE READY FROM THE FACTORY... meaning without aftermarket mods.

I have a 2001 Banshee with Toomey Racing T-5 pipes, and it seems faster in a straight line than a Predator. I didnt ride the Predator too much but it seemed like it handled pretty good. Banshees dont handle that great, but the powerband is incredible, almost nothing like it! IMO but I like to sound of the 2-strokes better, especially with dual pipes, they really rip.

i will agree that polaris is the #1 selling atv, but it has nothing to do with the Predator, they are known for workers, and trail riders not racing, like the Japs
