Anybody know a decent way to get a dent out of a plastic bumper cover?

It was in the bumper when I got the car and I tried to get it our once but it's been that way so long it just wanted to pop back in. Other than the dent it's in good shape. I'm thinking of heating it up with a heat gun to make the plastic more pliable or maybe just sitting it in the sun for a few hours, I'm not sure. I know there a few of you guys that do body work or a related trade so I thought I couldn't hurt to ask.

    Thanks.:)

Add a pic to show how it is, it is hard to give the best suggestion without seeing the problem.

gonna need pictures to say for sure. Too bad it isn't metal, you could buy a tube of BFH and mix it up with some Elbow Grease.. that'd take care of that one.

Plastic's either going to pop out and stay out, pop out and then pop back to where it's "used to,".. or crease/crack no matter how gentle you tried to be, in my personal experience ..which doesn't encompass much body work. I've witnessed old honda plastic breaking just from looking at it too hard, though.

you could pop that out, but as soon as you do the paint is probably going to crack, and the bumper wont be the same shape anymore....they're cheap just buy a new one.

^^^I'll keep them in mind if I decide to replace it, I'll eventually need a front bumper also.

Right now I'm broke as shit and just want to make it look a little better than it does now.

sorry for bringing it back after a month. if you still want that fixed, use a heat gun or heatlamp it will help with the cracking of the paint by softening the clearcoat and the plastic and you should be able to get it pretty close to normal on your own
