+1 (not only the NOPI drag race season, but their complete show series as well....which is insane and a multi-million dollar series)

We are slowly seeing all the major manufacturers get dumped by major distributors (hence the Apexi blowout thread we had a few weeks ago, as apexi was dumped by one of the major usa distributors). As steel prices increase, as gas increases, as UPS rates increase, it forces major companies to raise prices. Add ontop of that, a struggling economy where people aren't buying near as much as 5 years ago, and we have big trouble for companies that sell our 'toys' vs. our 'necessities'.

Everything will probably be fine. Apexi declared bankruptcy a year ago and they are still here.

All of which contributes even more to our ever growing economy problems. It's all one vicious cycle. I forsee it getting much worse in the near future. Anybody on the sales end of the counter can see that. It's gonna really test the strength of alot of buisinesses both big and small.

Maybe this will make room for new companies to try their hand at producing and selling quality parts. That could lead to a lot of cool new stuff.

Dude they canceled EVERYTHING this year.

We were at the Atlanta race towards the beginning of the year and we got rained out. Then over the next 2 months, they canceled three events out west, and then announced that NOPI Nationals was canceled as well as the rest of the drag and drift season, and they don't know if they intend to return or not.

Atlanta Motor Speedway is putting on a replacement show, but I haven't heard NEAR as much noise being made about it like you do with NOPI Nats, and it's supposed to happen next weekend!

It just sucks on so many levels b/c we lost our sanctioning race body for our drag car. So the boss is debating on going with BOTI in the future.

And just read this on the same website...

In a follow-up to our previous post about Trust's bankruptcy filing in Japan earlier this week, GReddy – Trust's U.S. arm – has issued a press release (available after the jump) to assure Stateside consumers that all is well and operations will continue in the U.S. unabated.

According to the release, Trust filed for "Minji-saisei-hou" in Japan, the equivalent of Chapter 11 in the States, that will allow the performance parts manufacturer to continue its business while it reorganizes. That process will have "little, if any effect on GReddy Performance Products" in the U.S. GReddy plans to feature three new project vehicles at SEMA this year, and both Trust and GReddy have adequate inventory and personnel to service customers.
